I WISH,

Wish adalah sebuah kata pengharapan dari


seseorang yang mgninginkan sesuatu yang
berlawanan dengan kenyataan yang terjadi.
Wish dibagi menjadi 3 jenis yaitu:
A. WAKTU SEKARANG
1. Kenyataan : Simple present
Harapan : Simple Past
Example:
I live near the beach
I wish I lived near the mountains
e.g:
I am very busy
I wish I didn’t have to work so much
WAKTU SEKARANG
Kenyataan : Present Continuous
Harapan : Past Continuous
Example:
I am studying English
I wish I were studying Japanese

Note: Dalam mengungkapkan harapan, bentuk


to-be Past dinyatakan dengan “Were”. Was
tidak dipakai meskipun subjeknya He, She, It.

Harapan : I wish my father could buy a car

Wish pada type ketiga ini untuk mengungkapkan
sebuah harapan untuk masa lampau.

Simple Past Tense is a tense that is used to tell about event

They wrote a letter for their parents last week

Penggunaan “Used to”
“Used to” is used to tell an activity, event or
habit in the past .

e.g:
1. She used to love me but not anymore
(Dia dulu mencintai saya, tapi sekarang
tidak lagi)
2. I used to live in Bandung
(Saya dulu pernah tinggal di Bandung)
Pattern:
1. Subject + Used to + Infinitive
e.g:
a. When I was child, I used to get up
early morning, but now I am always
late

b. I used to call you my love


“Used to” is also used in interrogative and negative
sentence.
e.g:
? Did you used to read comic every day?
(Apakah dulu kamu membaca komik setiap hari?
- No, I didn’t use to read comic
(Tidak, Saya tidak pernah membaca buku komik)
Penggunaan “Be used to”
“Be used to” is used to tell an activity or habit in
the past that still happen at present.
Pattern:
Subject + to be + used to + Verb ing

a. I am used to writing on this blog
b. She is used to disturbing me where ever I am.
