ּ ‫חַג ֵּנו‬:
(14)Jesus/Yeshua said: We are supposed to LIVE BY
Torah as God said in Deut 8:3!(Mat 4:4)
These feasts are literally appointments with God, and
he said, in effect, “get out your calendar and set aside
these three times.
 I want to meet with you at these specific times to
accomplish some specific things in your lives each
year!”
 YHWH Elohym is observing the feasts.
God chooses to do His great works at His appointed
times.
 He intended these feasts for all of His people.
His “appointed times” are eternal.
They are not temporary holidays.
The feasts are for all time.
They are family celebrations designed so that our children
will grow up with the rhythm of God’s cycle of blessing
built into them.
Many don’t experience God’s blessing because they miss
their windows of opportunity.
If we align our lives with God’s timing, we don’t miss the
opportunities God has for us. (Aligning w/ YHWH Will)
The BIBLE , the KINGDOM MANUAL
• God is King and heaven is the seat of His power.
• He extended His kingdom to Earth, giving man dominion over it.
• The first man lost the kingdom by disobedience.
• The chosen people failed to re-establish the Kingdom of God.
• Christ the King of restored the Kingdom by obedience.
• The Kingdom of God is in the here and now.
• People enter the restored Kingdom by new birth experience.
• Followers of King Yeshua are citizens of the Kingdom of God.
• As kingdom citizens, they carry in them the culture of the kingdom of heaven.
• Their lives should manifest the distinctive cultural difference of the Kingdom
of God.
• The Kingdom of God is presently forcefully advancing.
• Eventually, the kingdoms of the world will become the kingdom of the LORD

GOD’S CYCLE
OF BLESSING

God’s Yearly Cycle of

Life and The Monthly
Rosh Chodesh
God’s Yearly Cycle of Life
The appointed times or the Feasts YHWH are
God’s yearly cycle. Each season of the year
is special to God. As we understand God’s
purposes for each season, we learn to walk in
wisdom and prosper. God uses each time,
each season, and each month to work in our
lives and help press us forward into our call
and destiny. He readily responds when we
come to Him and answers our prayers in
every season. Likewise, if we align with
God’s timing, we can walk in His blessings.
READINGS :
Lev 23:1 And YAHWEH spoke to Moses, saying,
Lev 23:2 Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them,
The set feasts of YAHWEH which you shall proclaim as holy
gatherings, shall be these: These are My appointed feasts: –
Hebbrew word mo’ed, meaning an “appointed time, an
appointment, a fixed time or season.” Mo’ed is the same
word used for a biblical feast. God tells us that the stars are
there to mark our seasons, and to remind us of the “appointed
times” to meet with Him.

The heavens are a revelation of God’s times. God arranged the

sun, moon, and stars in the heavens to establish His times in
our lives.
Lev 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In
the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall
ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of
trumpets, an holy convocation.
27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there
shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy
convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls,
and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 28
And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a
day of atonement, to make an atonement for you
before the Lord your God.
34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The
fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast
of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.
“Three times a year you shall celebrate a feast to
Me. You shall observe the Feast of Unleavened
Bread; for seven days you are to eat unleavened
bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time
in the month Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt.
And none shall appear before Me empty-
handed.  Also you shall observe the Feast of the
Harvest  of  the first fruits of your labors from what
you sow in the field; also the Feast of the
Ingathering at the end of the year when you gather
in the fruit of your labors from the field.  Three times
a year all your males shall appear before the
Lord GOD. Exodus 23:14-17
Deut 16:13 Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles
seven days, . . .
14 And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son,
and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy
maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the
fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
15 b . . . because the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all
thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands,
therefore thou shalt surely rejoices .

everyone a fresh start… economically, spiritually. Etc.

MOST FREQUENT COMMENTS:
“This is wonderful! It’s such a blessing! Why
haven’t we done this before?”

THE ANSER IS:

“We’ve been ROBBED!”
Satan has stolen many of the blessing God
intended us to have!
SATAN IS A LIAR AND A THIEF!
Satan’s strategy is to weaken the church by
STEALING our resources.
His method: He STEALS by LYING to us!
“Healing is not for today” - the church stays sick
“Spiritual gifts ceased” - we abandon weapons
“Women can’t minister” - half army sits down

His most effective attacks has been to steal away the

WORD OF GOD (Mark 4:15)
And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when
they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the
word that was sown in their hearts.
Satan has persuaded many to IGNORE most of

YHWH God is still waiting to keep His appointments. If

we are willing to meet with Him, we receive great

God’s appointed times are designed to create a rhythm

They align our lives with God’s timing and help us to be

What is Pictured in the Feasts?

Each of these feasts has a different focus and is

designed to accomplish some specific “spiritual
transactions” in our lives.

FIRST MONTH: Passover (Redemption and

Cleansing). Passover celebrates redemption from
sin and cleansing from impurity.
When Passover is celebrated, we experience again
the joy of being “redeemed by the blood of the
lamb!”
THIRD MONTH: Pentecost (Provision)
Pentecost is a celebration of God’s provision. The
physical provision of the wheat harvest, the
provision of God’s revelation in the Torah, and the
provision of the Holy Spirit.

SEVENTH MONTH: Tabernacles (Experiencing God’s

Glory)
Tabernacles celebrates God’s glory – His Presence –
dwelling with His people. At Tabernacles, God wants
to lead us afresh into the joy of life in His Presence.
The Seventh Month Begins with . . .
“Feast of Trumpets” – Yom Teruah
Literally: “The day of the awakening blast!”
Begins the most important series of days in the
Bible. It’s also called . . .

The 18th Benediction – the hope of Messiah in the coming Resurrection
Congregational Prayers:
O YHWH, open thou my lips that my mouth might declare Thy praise.
Blessed art Thou, O YHWH our ELOHYM, and God of our fathers; God
of Abraham, God of Isaac and God of Jacob; great, mighty, and
revered God, sublime God, who bestows loving kindness, and art
Master of all things. Who hast graciously brought the Redeemer,
Yeshua HaMoshiach, to provide our atonement; and wilt bring Israel
unto Thyself for Thy Holy Name’s sake.
Thank You for life, O King Who delights in life; thank You for inscribing
us in the Lamb’s book of life, through the sacrifice of Yeshua , the
Lamb of God, Who taketh away the sin of the world.
Thou sustainest the living with kindness and revivest the dead with
great mercy; Thou support all who fall and heal the sick;
Thou settest the captives free, and keepest faith with those who sleep
in the dust.
The 18th Benediction – the hope of Messiah in the coming Resurrection

Who is like Thee, YHWH of power? Who resembles

Thee, O King?
Thou bringest death and restorest life, and causest
Salvation to flourish. Thou art Holy and Thy Name is
Holy, and holy beings praise Thee daily.
Thou, O YHWH our ELOHYM , hast graciously given
us this day of Remembrance, a day for the blowing of
the shofar, a holy festival in remembrance of the
exodus from Egypt, and of our future exodus from
this world to be forever with YESHUA our ELOHYM.
Continue / Congregational Prayers :
Our Elohym/ God, and Elohym/ God of our fathers, may
this remembrance of Messiah, the son of David and
Thy servant, ascend and come and be accepted before
Thee for deliverance and happiness, for grace,
kindness and mercy, for life and peace on this Day of
Remembrance for Israel as it is for us.
Draw Thy people Israel, and all peoples, unto Thyself
through Yeshua HaMoshiach, our Salvation, for Thou
art a gracious and merciful God and King.
B’shem Yeshua HaMoshiach, Amein.

Readings: 1 Corinthians 15:51-57
1Cor. 15:51-58 Behold, I speak a mystery to you: We shall not all fall
asleep, but we shall all be changed. (52) In a moment, in the blinking of
an eye, at the last trumpet; for a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be
raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed. (53) For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality. (54) But when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and
this mortal shall put on immortality, then will take place the Word that has
been written, "Death was swallowed up in victory." (Isa. 25:8) (55) "O
death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory?" (Hos. 13:14)
(56) Now the sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the Law; (57)
but thanks be to YAHWEH who gives us the victory through our Master
Yeshua Messiah! (58) So that, my beloved brothers, you be firm,
immovable, abounding in the work of YAHWEH always, knowing that your
labor is not without fruit in the Master YAHWEH.
Readings: 1 Corinthians 15:51-57
1Cor. Hebraic Version 15:51-58 Hinei! I speak a sod (mystery) to you: we will not
all sleep the sleep of the Mesim, but we will all be changed. (52) In a rega
(moment), in the wink of an eye, at the last shofar blast (teruach Gedolah) . For the
shofar will sound, the Mesim (dead ones) will be raised imperishable, and we will
be changed. (53) For it is necessary for this perishable nature to put on the
imperishable, and this mortal nature to put on the immortal. (54) But when this
perishable nature puts on the imperishable, and this mortal, the immortal, then the
dvar hanevu'ah will come to pass that stands written, "He will swallow up death
forever" (YESHAYAH 25:8) in victory. (55) EHI DEVARECHA MAVET EHI
KATAVECHA SHEOL? ("Where are your plagues, O Death? Where is your
destruction, O Sheol?" HOSHEA 13:14) (56) Now the sting of death is chet (sin)
and the ko'ach (power) of chet (sin) is chukkat haTorah [see Dt 27:26; Ga 3:1-13;
Ro 7:7-13]. (57) But Baruch Hashem, Who is giving us the nitzachon (victory)
through Adoneinu Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach. (58) So then, Chaverim and Achim
b'Moshiach of mine, be steadfast, immovable, abounding always in the avodas
kodesh of Adoneinu, have da'as that your po'al (work) is not in vain in Hashem

1Thes . 4:13-18 But I want you to know, my brethren, concerning those who
sleep, that you should not grieve, as the rest do who have not hope. (14) For if
we believe that Yehshua died and rose again, even so YAHWEH will also bring
with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Yehshua. (15) For we say
this to you in the Word of YAHWEH, that we the living who remain to the
coming of our Master will not at all go before those who have fallen asleep.
(16) Because the Master Himself shall come down from Heaven with a
commanding shout of an archangel's voice, and with the trumpet of YAHWEH.
And the dead in Messiah will rise again first. (17) Then we who remain alive
will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet with our Master in
the air. And so we will always be with our Master. (18) So, then, comfort each

The Feasts and the Tabernacle:
OUTER COURT – Place of Redemption &
Cleansing. We find the altar and the laver, a
place to be delivered from the defilement of
sin.
HOLY PLACE – Celebration of God’s
Provision. The table of showbread
acknowledged God’s physical provision. The
altar of Incense pictured the provision of
access to God through Prayer.
HOLY OF HOLIES – The place God’s glory
dwelt in the midst of His people.
God’s appointed times were designed to put
you on an escalator going up. Every year
they take you through a set of key spiritual
transactions that draw you ever-closer into
His presence. They form a cycle designed
to break the enemy’s power and restore you
to God’s blessing.
If we celebrate these feasts, not as religious
rituals or traditional observances – but as
times to meet with God and allow Him
access to our lives, they enable us to draw
continually closer to God and set us free
from Satan’s oppression.
God’s monthly cycle is what the Jews call
ROSH CHODESH. This Holy Day is very
important to God, yet most believers never
talk about or honor this cycle.

Why are we not experiencing what the Bible

promises? The reason is because we are
not doing what the Bible instructs us to do.
But God is restoring them to us and one of
this is the blessing of Rosh Chodesh.
Rosh Chodesh is Hebrew for “head of the
month,” which is a joyful celebration
to the Lord held on the first day of every
month. Rosh Chodesh is a time to gather
together and seek God. The Bible call this
celebration a “new moon” festival.
O LORD, our Lord, how
majestic and glorious and excellent is
Your name in all the earth!
You have displayed Your splendor
above the heavens.
When I see and consider Your
heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You
have established,
O LORD, our Lord, how
majestic and glorious and excellent
is Your name in all the earth!
Psalm 8: 1, 3, 9
Who commands the sun, and it does not shine;
Who seals up the stars [from view];
Who alone stretches out the heavens
And tramples down the waves of the sea;
Who made [the constellations] the Bear, Orion, and
the Pleiades,
And the [vast starry] spaces of the south; Job 9:7-9
Clearly, the Scriptures validate there is nothing evil
or occult about the sun, moon, or the
constellations. They are part of God’s creation.
The enemy has simply tried to pervert what God
has made. The heavens were designed to point
us to God, but Satan has enticed mankind to use
The heavens for an ungodly purpose. His
strategy for this is called astrology. The
science of astrology is man’s attempt to
discern the future from the stars and gain
revelation without having to seek God or
hear His voice. Astrology is a form of
divination, which is a sin. If you dabble in
horoscopes, you are disobeying God’s Word
and opening the door to demonic
oppression in your life.
God gave us the heavens as one of His
good gifts to provide us with revelation of
who He is and to remind us of the times
God has established for us to seek Him.

Then God said, “Let there be light-bearers (sun,

moon, stars) in the expanse of the heavens to

separate the day from the night, and let them
be useful for signs (tokens) [of God’s provident
care], and for marking seasons, days, and years;
Genesis 1:14
Two significant words to describe the heavens:
1. God says the heavens are there to provide
SIGNS. Oth – Heb word meaning “a signal,
omen, or warning.” So we know that God gives
warnings and signals in the heavens.
I will show wonders in heaven above
And signs in the earth beneath:
Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the
LORD. Acts 2:19-20

Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will

be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars
will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will
be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in
heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and
they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of
heaven with power and great glory. Matthew 24:29-30
2. Seasons – Heb word mo’ed, meaning an
“appointed time, an appointment, a fixed
time or season.” Mo’ed is the same word
used for a biblical feast. God tells us that
the stars are there to mark our seasons,
and to remind us of the “appointed times”
to meet with Him.

The heavens are a revelation of God’s times.

God arranged the sun, moon, and stars
in the heavens to establish His times in
our lives.

Thank You for life, O King Who delights in life; thank You for inscribing

Lamb of God, Who taketh away the sin of the world.
Thou sustainest the living with kindness and revivest the dead with

Thou settest the captives free, and keepest faith with those who sleep
in the dust.

(54) But when this
perishable nature puts on the imperishable, and this mortal, the immortal, then the
dvar hanevu'ah will come to pass that stands written, "He will swallow up death

with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Yehshua. (15) For we say
this to you in the Word of YAHWEH, that we the living who remain to the

(16) Because the Master Himself shall come down from Heaven with a

THE HEBRAIC -CHRISTIAN SALVATION
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matt. 6:10)
God created man in Paradise on the earth. God withdrew Paradise from the earth
because of man’s disobedience. God has a plan whereby Paradise will be restored to
the earth, but first man must learn obedience.
- The plan includes the forming of a Kingdom, the Kingdom of God, that will install
obedience to God on the earth and maintain obedience on the earth for eternity. 

 -God’s Kingdom shall come. God’s will shall be done on the earth as it is in Heaven.
 Eternal residence in Heaven is not the goal of salvation. Somehow the myth got
started that the purpose of salvation is to enable us to make our eternal residence in
Heaven. This concept is part of Christian thinking, as we know.

- The Old Testament (TaNaKh) makes no mention of the spirit Paradise as being the
eternal home of man.
-  Yet one hears Jewish people as well as Gentiles speak of Heaven as the place
where the righteous go to live forever when they die. ***
THE HEBRAIC -CHRISTIAN SALVATION
- PROMISED LAND (ISRAEL) IS THE GOAL OF SALVATION
Mat 5:5 Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth.
Mat 5:5 Mapapalad ang maaamo: sapagka't mamanahin nila ang lupa.
- Judaism and Christianity, at least from the Lord’s standpoint, are not two different religions.
Men have made a religion of Judaism and other men have made a religion of Christianity. But
neither Judaism nor Christianity are religions.
-  Taken together they constitute one progressive revelation of the Lord to mankind. Neither
one came about as man sought God. Both of them originated as Divine revelations. ***
The unfortunate cleavage between Judaism and Christianity has occurred because of human
frailty. ***  The truth is, Christianity is nothing more nor less than the unfolding of true Judaism,
of the revelation given to Moses and the Prophets.

- We are using the term religion to indicate a set of beliefs and practices that people have
developed and in which they engage, often with the goal of obtaining bliss in the next world.
How can we refer to the majestic acts of Israel’s Lord as a religion?
Were the plagues on Egypt a religion?

Was the parting of the Red Sea a religion? Did Sinai quake as men practiced a religion? Indeed not!
- These were revelations of the Almighty God to all mankind, given to and through
the Israelites as God’s chosen saints (holy ones).
THE HEBRAIC -CHRISTIAN SALVATION
- PROMISED LAND (ISRAEL) IS THE GOAL OF SALVATION
Rev_12:10 And I heard a great voice in heaven, which said:
Now is come the salvation, and the power and the kingdom of
our Elohim, and the dominion of his Messiah: because the
Accuser of our brethren is cast out, the one who accuses
them day and night before our Elohim.
THE HEBRAIC -CHRISTIAN SALVATION
- PROMISED LAND (ISRAEL) IS THE GOAL OF SALVATION
THE HEBRAIC -CHRISTIAN SALVATION
- PROMISED LAND (ISRAEL) IS THE GOAL OF SALVATION
- The Scriptures do not teach that Heaven is man’s eternal home. Nowhere in the
Scriptures is Heaven presented as man’s eternal home.  Man is on earth in the first
chapter of the Scriptures and man is on the new earth in the last chapter of the
Scriptures.
The Kingdom of God does not permit sin on the earth.
If we are to gain a true understanding of the nature and significance of the Judaic-Christian we must go back to the Book of Genesis.

Adam and Eve were not in Heaven in the beginning. This is very important for us
to understand,
 because salvation is redemption.  Redemption is the restoring to a person
what has been taken from him by some means.  To redeem a person or thing is
to pay the price of redemption and then to return the person or thing to his or its
original condition. ***
*** Since Adam and Eve did not fall from Heaven, redemption does not return them
to Heaven.  Adam and Eve were driven from Paradise on the earth.

 The Divine redemption will restore mankind to Paradise on the earth. ***
The Scriptures have to do with the redemption of mankind.
- The Lord Yeshua/Jesus is the Redeemer of mankind.
- Nowhere in the Scriptures, New Testament or Old Testament, is it stated that our
reason for accepting Jesus is to escape Hell, or that if a person does not accept Jesus
he is cast into Hell. - Whenever the Scriptures speak of Hell, or of the Lake of
Fire, the cause is unrighteous, unholy conduct. ***
 The rich man was cast into Hell because he was selfish.
 The goat nations will be led away into Gehenna because they would not nourish the
Lord’s brothers.
 The wicked will be cast into the Lake of Fire because of their conduct. This is the clear
teaching of both the Old Testament and the New Testament.
- Nowhere in the Scriptures is it taught that if we believe in Jesus we will go to Heaven
when we die.  What is stressed in numerous instances is that we receive eternal
life through Jesus. It is not that eternal life is given to us as a reward for believing
in Jesus but that receiving the Lord Jesus is equivalent to receiving eternal
Divine Life—Life that always manifests itself in righteous conduct. To receive the
Lord Jesus is to receive Eternal Life and Righteousness Himself.
Has anyone gone up to heaven?
Has Anyone Gone to Heaven?
The Reward of the Saved Will You Go to Heaven?
"he both died and was buried, and his tomb is
among us until this day . . . For David did not ascend
into Heaven"? (Acts 2:29, 34).
What a paradox! Millions today believe the saved go
to heaven, yet righteous David didn't go there!
And if the saved go to heaven when they die, what
need is there for a resurrection from the dead? Why
a resurrection if they have already "gone to their
reward"?
 It’s time that these puzzling, yet vitally important,

questions were answered.

Has Anyone Gone to Heaven?
The Reward of the Saved Will You Go to Heaven?
Millions today believe they will go to heaven when
they die. They assume that the righteous men of the
Bible went to heaven when they died. But what does
the Bible say?
 Is heaven really the "reward of the saved"?
WHY, if the righteous go to heaven, did Yeshua say:
"And no one has gone up into Heaven, except He
having come down out of Heaven, The Son of Man is
He who is in Heaven."? (John 3:13).
If the saved go to heaven when they die, why did
Peter say that King David, a man after Yahweh's own
heart (Acts 13:22),
Has Anyone Gone to Heaven?
John 14:3: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will
receive you to Myself, that where I am you may be also."
When Yeshua returns to the earth as "King of Kings," He will tell the saints:
"Come, ye blessed . . . inherit the kingdom PREPARED FOR YOU" (Matt. 25:34).

 And the Scriptures declare that they will rule all nations here on earth, having
POSITIONS OF AUTHORITY in Yahweh's Kingdom! ( Rev 5:10)

 Rev 5:10 "You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God;
and they will reign upon the earth."
Rev 5:10 Ginawa mo silang isang liping maharlika at mga saserdote para
maglingkod sa ating Diyos;
At sila’y maghahari sa lupa.”
It is often explained like this . . .
“The Old Testament is written to Jews,
the New Testament is to Christians.”
“OT has some good Sunday school stories, but most of it is
hard to understand and you shouldn’t spend much time
there because it’s not for us.”
ATTITUDE: something inferior, substandard, or
unchristian about Old Testament
Primary reason most Christians don’t understand
appointed times: When subject is mentioned . . .
“That’s OLD Testament”
ASSUMPTION: If it’s Old Testament, it’s wrong,
out of date, and harmful!
“If you are really a Christian you would never want
to do something from the OT!”
“BEING DISLOYAL TO JESUS!”
If you think that . . . You’re not just rejecting OT,
… You’re also rejecting the New Testament!
Surprising Truth: The NT VALUES THE OT!
“I thought we were New Testament Church!”
“We ARE . . . But the BIBLE of the NT Church was
the Old Testament!
New Testament Church Used OT as BIBLE!
Imagine you were 25 years old on the day of
Pentecost and got saved when Peter spoke.
If you listened to the apostles, teaching every day of
your life . . .
Almost 60 years old before you heard your first
sermon from the New Testament!
For 30 years, EVERY sermon was from the OT!
It’s a “New Testament” thing to STUDY the OT!
It’s a “New Testament” thing to PRACTICE OT!
For 3 centuries . . . Common to observe the feasts!
Many Christians have allowed the devil to steal
away ¾ of their BIBLE.
They don’t read it, teach it, or know it!
IT’S BEEN STOLEN FROM THEM!
God put a SWORD in our hands . . .

All some have left is a dagger!

God wants you to have a full sword . . .

WHAT SATAN HAS STOLEN
To do that, we want to get a
NEW Testament View of the OLD Testament

Jesus and the apostles did not view the Old

Testament as inferior, rejected, or out of date.

They embraced it as THE WORD OF GOD!

TAKING BACK
WHAT SATAN HAS STOLEN
What the New Testament CALLED
the OLD Testament
• It NEVER calls it the OLD Testament!
• It just called it SCRIPTURE!
First to call Hebrew Bible “Old Testament”
Melito of Sardis – AD 180
First to call the Greek Bible “New Testament”
Irenaeus – AD 190
That distinction: 150 years after Pentecost!
120 years after most of the NT were written!
TAKING BACK
WHAT SATAN HAS STOLEN
Jesus and the OLD Testament
Jesus embraced the Old Testament as God’s
Word. He Continually quoted it!
• Jesus in the wilderness – 3 times He resisted
the devil by quoting Deuteronomy.
• John 10:35, Jesus: “the SCRIPTURE cannot be
broken.”
• Matt 5:18 “until heaven and earth pass away,
not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away
from the Torah.”
TAKING BACK
WHAT SATAN HAS STOLEN
“But the OT is Hard to Understand!”
BOTH testaments have hard things!
Both OT and NT have MEAT and MILK!
• In both is MILK to nourish young believers!
• In both there is enough MEAT to keep a mature
Christian studying for a lifetime!
GOSPEL OF JOHN
• First thing for New Christians! “easy read”
• Yet there are profound and deep things we still need to
grasp and more years of study.

Paul and the OLD Testament
1 Cor. 10:11 “Now these things (Old Testament
Accounts) happened to them as an example,
and were written for OUR instruction, upon
whom the ends of the ages have come.”

The Old Testament was written for our benefit!

Don’t accept the lie that the Old Testament was
just for Jews.

Paul and the OLD Testament
2 Cor 3:16-18 (Describes what it’s like when a Christian
studies the Old testament)
“with unveiled face (we are ) beholding as in a mirror
the glory of the Lord . . .”
Paul says when Christians study OT . . . It’s like viewing
the glory of God in a mirror!
OT is reflection of God’s glory . . . And through it we
are transformed from glory to glory!

Paul and the OLD Testament
II Tim 3:14-17 – Value of OT for Christians:
But as for you, continue in what you have learned . . .
How from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures,
which are able to make you wise for salvation through
faith in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for
teaching, rebuking correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the man of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work.
TAKING BACK
WHAT SATAN HAS STOLEN
Paul and the OLD Testament
“…continue in what you have learned . . . How from
infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are
able to make you wise for salvation through faith in
Christ Jesus.”
Jewish children began their study of TORAH at age 3!
“From Infancy” Timothy’s Jewish mother and
grandmother would have taught him the OT
Scriptures.
Paul is saying, “What Timothy has learned will be of
GREAT value to him as a Christian!"
WHY IS THE OLD
TESTAMENT
IMPORTANT?
1. You can’t understand NT without the Old!
If you reject the OT you also miss out on NT!
Studying the NT . . . Need to reference the OT!
John the Baptist – “behold the Lamb of God!

“Trying to understand the Bible without studying the

Old Testament is like reading the last fourth part of a
good novel! You may be reading the best parts of the
book, but there will be a great deal you don’t
understand!”
WHY IS THE OLD
TESTAMENT
IMPORTANT?
2. The NT INSTRUCTS us to learn the OT!
If we don’t teach the OT, we are disobeying NT!
1 Cor 10:11 “These things (things recorded in the OT)
happened to them as an example, and were written
for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages
have come.

Rom 15:4 “What was written in earlier times was

written for our instruction, that through
perseverance and the encouragement of the
Scriptures we might have hope.”
WHY IS THE OLD
TESTAMENT
IMPORTANT?
3. RICH TREASURES waiting to be revealed
Through much of it’s history, church has
neglected the OT! In the last 50 years . . .
BIBLICAL PRAISE AND WORSHIP
COVENANT RELATIONSHIPS
TABERNACLE OF DAVID
Many areas of truth are mentioned in the New,
but clearly explained in the Old!
WHY IS THE OLD
TESTAMENT
IMPORTANT?
4. MORE TREASURES waiting to be revealed
TORAH = “Teaching of God” = foundational
Presence of God, Holiness, Intercession . . .
God doesn’t repeat everything, assumes you have OT!
5. OT is full of God’s Promises, thousands!
2 Cor 1 – all “YES” in Jesus! What God wants for you.
6. In the OT, the Church is REDISCOVERING it’s
LOST INHERITANCE!
God’s Appointed Times!
We are RECLAIMING the stolen blessings!
WHY IS THE OLD
TESTAMENT
IMPORTANT?
Relating to the OLD Testament
2 Tim 3:16 “… profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and
instruction in righteousness.”
- DOCTRINE (Teaching) give us understanding of the

OLD TESTAMENT Scriptures = precious GIFT from God!

WHY IS THE OLD
TESTAMENT
IMPORTANT?
We are NOT under OT Rituals and Laws
But OT is far MORE than book of commandments
The OT is a WINDOW into the Heart of God!
• Torah - (5 books) foundational teaching on God
• Historical books - definitive book on praise and worship.
• Proverbs - teaches to walk in God’s wisdom
• Prophets - greatest teaching on God ever given
(Isaiah = “gospel” clearer teaching on Jesus than NT)
To REJECT the OT is to live in self-imposed POVERTY,
missing out on blessings God intended us to enjoy!
WHY IS THE OLD
TESTAMENT
IMPORTANT?
Paul to Ephesians elders: Goal was to
communicate “Whole Counsel of God!”
WE NEED IT ALL!
WE NEED THE NEW TESTAMENT
WE NEED THE OLD TESTAMENT
It’s ALL one Book!
It’s ALL God’s Word!
It’s ALL of eternal value!
It’s ALL profitable . . . And it’s ALL for us!
HOW WE BROKE OUT OF
GOD’S CYCLE
GOD GAVE US A CYCLE OF BLESSING!
It’s a CYCLE of “appointed times” designed to
bring us into ever greater blessing!
• to draw us ever closer to God
• to lead us into restoration and revival
• and keep us secure from the enemy
God gave these as perpetual ordinances to be observed
through all generations (Lev 23:31)
But the church has abandoned them and forfeited the
blessing God intended.
HOW DID WE LOSE THEM?

The LIFE of the EARLY CHURCH
The Early Church was the most powerful
institution the world had ever seen
IT EXPLODED ONTO THE WORLD STAGE
IN ACTS 2, AND NOTHING HAD THE
POWER TO STAND AGAINST IT!
Pagan religions could not compete with it.
Greek philosophy could not comprehend it.
Persecution only purified it and made it grow
more rapidly!

ACTS 2 ACTS 4 ACTS 7
By the end of that day, God added more than 3,000 men and
women to the church.
Within a year, the Jerusalem church tripled in size numbering
more than 10,000
Some estimate by time Stephen was killed (Acts 6-7) the church
had grown to 20,000
CHURCH MADE UP ½ OF POPULATION OF JERUSALEM!
