What is Rating Sheets?
 A method of deciding on one
option when a number of
alternatives exist.
What does it achieve?
 Helps you make a choice.
 Compares the different options so
the most appropriate can be chosen.
 Assess the effectiveness of each
option to meet its objectives.
How to use it?
 Specify criteria (options needing to
be met)
 Match suitability of item to criteria
 Record results
 Best option
When to use it?
 Deciding which problem to tackle
 Deciding which solution to
implement
 Deciding which alternative to
choose
When to use it?
Used in conjunction with:
Brainstorming, consensus
reaching, decision analysis and
solution effect analysis
There are 2 types of Rating Sheets:

1.Basic Rating Sheet


• Presents the options and criteria with
equal importance, so all you need to do
is decide whether each option satisfies
each of the criteria.

• You can build on the basic
Rating Sheet by deciding which
criteria is the most important
