VERNACULAR

ARCHITECTURE

Subject- Architectural Writing (AP-130)

Submitted to– Ar. Navneet Singh
This paper examines a set of samples of 127 studies on vernacular architecture from which
evaluations, assessments and orientations have been drawn.
We shall move forward and learn how the journal explains us about vernacular architecture.

INTRODUCTION MEMBERS

Now with ever growing global environmental concerns, architects are

reconsidering regionalism and knowledge of traditional structures, since they YAGYA
were energy efficient and highly sustainable. This data is established from wide
based research and refined primary resources. It helps in tracing back the GAURA
V
bioclimatic changes in design by studying vernacular architecture of famous
buildings distinguished by the regions. Design principles associated with these MANVI
traditional buildings is believed to be well adapted to local climate and nature,
embodying a comprehensive wisdom. Thus to pass on the information regarding YAJAT

sustainable development and counter environmental disparities we rely on the HARSHI

following study prepared through studying various historical or say, vernacular T
architecture left to us by our ancestors.

NEED OF THE STUDY MEMBERS

The study aims to analyze and clarify the achievements of the collected studies
on vernacular architecture and the lessons derived from them. This increased
interest of present generation in this respective study is to revive the vernacular YAGYA
architecture is to prevent future generation from falling apart on the hands of
disturbed environment cycle. The underlying aim of this paper is to document GAURA
V
the origins, scope, techniques, contents, results, and quick accessibility of studies
on sustainable features of vernacular architecture worldwide. In this study MANVI
investigation is about the distribution of the studies in the collected set of
samples on the continents, geographic regions, and climate zones. The main YAJAT
purpose of this analysis is to help researchers detect geographic and climate gaps HARSHI
in the research on vernacular architecture, contributing to the orientation of T
future research.

AIM, OBECTIVES, SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS MEMBERS

The majority of the research (approx. 60%) defines objectives with a clear YAGYA
differentiation, indicating that studies on vernacular architecture mostly focus on
GAURA
passive/bioclimatic/environmental/ecological design principles/measures, and on V
assessing the environmental conditions inside the buildings. The aim of the study is
to replicate the sustainable design for ensuring indoor conditions of vernacular MANVI
buildings in the modern age. In addition, the cultural, social and intellectual values YAJAT
embedded within this type of heritage are also attractive, accounting for nearly 20%
of the total research objectives. Study also emphasized on the importance of HARSHI
preserving and promoting the values embodied in vernacular architecture T

METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is defined as the specific procedures or
techniques used to identify, select, process, and analyze
information about a topic. It is crucial because of its great
influence on the overall validity and reliability of a study.
These works offer an emerging perspective that research by
design has become a way to engage in the generation of new YAGYA
knowledge. The most used methods are experimental
research, simulation research (quantitative methods), GAURA
V
interpretative research, and qualitative research (qualitative
methods). Some studies employed case study methods, MANVI
combined methods, and survey research methods
(intermediate methods). Quantitative methods are more YAJAT
reliable. The overwhelming proportion of housing studies
shows that housing is the most popular and easily accessible HARSHI
vernacular focus, and one that can be found anywhere in the T
world. name 02, Student name 03, Student name 04, Student name 05

Robust quantitative methods such as experiment or stimulation has indeed helped studies to
be more appreciated, it gave accurate data and findings revealed about thermal comfort and
other climatic responses. findings from these studies covered a wide range of issues and
their concluding remarks were not homogeneous. Vernacular architecture across the world
offers a diverse panorama of human response to the natural environment, reflecting natural,
cultural and social context of the varied sites. Researchers agree that vernacular architecture YAGYA
is a proven model of sustainable architecture, regarding all environmental, economic and
social aspects. Vernacular architecture is the product of building cultures - a complex system GAURA
of people, V
relationships, beliefs, aesthetic styles, construction techniques, and habits in which design
MANVI
and buildings are combined. Therefore, it is essential to encourage new approaches to
vernacular architecture that go beyond the perspective of architects alone, to promote the YAJAT
emergence of an improved built environment. Various results might look pleasing but
certain challenges are also bound to come with it, hence it is to counter those problems and HARSHI
balance out approaches. T

Conclusion MEMBERS

Well in the light of modern era we people tend to forget the importance and unsee
the legacy of traditional architectural buildings that we have been bestowed with.
But with recent pressure of increasing with global environmental problems, the
face of light has turned to those forgotten buildings being regarded as energy
efficient and highly sustainable. sustainable. In the era of rapid technological
YAGYA
development and massive construction, there is still much to learn from the
cumulative knowledge embedded in traditional structures. The low-tech methods GAURA
used in vernacular architecture can be used to create buildings and environments V
well-suited to local climate and culture. The lessons from vernacular architecture MANVI
across the world have emphasized the importance of a climate conscious approach
to building design to accomplish human comfort without excessive use of natural YAJAT
resources. Finally as suspected the journal was used to notify and clarify learnings
HARSHI
related to vernacular architecture . T
