CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Forest: Area with trees grouped in a way to their leaves or foliage, shades the
ground
Covers 30.6% of the total area of the world
Climate, topography, soil type and land use affects forest diversity,
composition and regeneration (Marer, Karki et al. 2015)

Broad Objective
To know the growth pattern of Acacia Catechu in the riverine forest of Parsa
National Park
Specific Objective
To Know the relation between DBH basal diameter and height of the trees in
the forest
To study the numbers of species based upon various classes of DBH and hence
study growth pattern
