CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

 Forest: Area with trees grouped in a way to their leaves or foliage, shades the
ground
 Covers 30.6% of the total area of the world
 Climate, topography, soil type and land use affects forest diversity,
composition and regeneration (Marer, Karki et al. 2015)
Acacia Catechu (khair)

 Deciduous tree with a crooked, forked and thorny trunk

 Nearly 12-15mm in thickness
 Occurs on variety of geological formation and soil
CHAPTER 2: OBJECTIVE

Broad Objective
 To know the growth pattern of Acacia Catechu in the riverine forest of Parsa
National Park

Specific Objective
 To Know the relation between DBH basal diameter and height of the trees in
the forest
 To study the numbers of species based upon various classes of DBH and hence
study growth pattern
CHAPTER 3: METHOD AND METHODOLOGY

Study Area:
Namobuddha Community forest, Parsa National Park

Equipment used:
 Vernier Caliper
 Meter Tape
 Clinometer

Discussion:

 Increase in basal diameter leads to increase in DBH and height of tree .
