Description

 The Hospitality giant OYO had the hardest hit due to this pandemic post January 2020
 The hotel sector saw the decrease in occupancy for more than 65% during this pandemic
situation
 OYO being established all over the world saw a critical hit, a decrease in 90% of its
revenue.
 Like other organization OYO also turn down jobs and ends its contract with many property
owners.
 But the way it coped up to help the turned down employee had impressed many.
Analysis-Managerial Implications by OYO-UK

 OYO had made respectable managerial moves despite this pandemic.


 It had done this in two phases.
 PHASE 1-for Employees
 The employees are given a leave of absence. Instead of firing the employees the
organization had just provided a furlough
 It had requested the higher earning colleagues for a reduction in their Fixed compensation
upto 25%
 This move had also impacted the employees in a positive way.
Phase 2

 The Consultation process


 OYO despite giving furlough it had also cut down some employees, but it had been doing
its best for the employees by providing consultation process for a period of 30 days
 This process includes guide to search for a new job.
 It had also given the pay even for the paper period and also 1 month of severance pay had
been provided to the employees.
 The company had freeze its external hiring process for a period of 6 months
 If any role opened up its only for the employee who got affected.
OYO Rooms for Carers

 This step is still boosting OYO’s value


 It had partnered with certain property owners and are providing room for the health care
workers
 The room service is provided for 25euros per night.
 Health care workers for particular families or elders are accommodated by their respective
owners by using this option.
Impressions

 OYO despite being one of the Critical hit Sector due to this pandemic had come up with
quality measures to retain its position
 As stated in its objectives it is always looking forward for Customer satisfaction and their
partners rather having an eye on Revenue alone.
 Many entrepreneurs of this new generation are becoming more socially oriented despite
their Financial Goals.
