What are drums?
◦ a percussion instrument sounded by being struck with sticks or the hands,
typically cylindrical, barrel-shaped, or bowl-shaped, with a taut membrane
over one or both ends.

◦ Musical percussion instrument consisting of a hollow, usually cylindrical,

body covered at one or both ends with a tightly stretched membrane, or head,
which is struck with the hand, a stick, or a pair of sticks, and typically
produces a booming, tapping, or hollow sound.
Where are drums played?
◦ Drums are mostly played in South Asia
◦ They are very common in weddings that are in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh,
etc.
◦ They are also played in different rock bands and school bands.

songwriter, and author, best known as the drummer.
◦ and primary lyricist of the rock band Rush.

Peart is considered one of the greatest rock drummers of all
time. He was inducted into Modern Drummer magazine's
Hall of Fame in 1983, and in 2014, he was voted the Greatest
Drummer of All Time by the readers of Consequence of
Sound.
 Megan Martha

former musician and singer best known for
her work as the drummer of Detroit rock duo
the White Stripes.

◦ She become famous as a drummer after her

Travis London Barker

musician who serves as the drummer for
the rock band Blink-182.
