    Rock music has its roots in the rock & roll of
    the 1950s. ... In the mid-1960s, rock music
    was combined with folk music to create folk
    rock, with blues to create blues rock and with
    jazz, to create jazz-rock fusion, and without a
    timestamp to create psychedelic rock.
    FOUNDER OF THE FIRST ROCK GROUP?
    In 1952 a white singer, Bill Haley, formed The Comets, which could be considered the first rock'n'roll band.
    1952 is also the year that Bob Horn's TV show "Bandstand" (which in 1956 would become Dick Clark's
    "American Bandstand") aired from Philadelphia at noon Monday through Friday; and the year Alan Freed
    (now more famous as "Moondog") hosted the first rock'n'roll concert, "Moondog Coronation Ball." And the
    year the first rock'n'roll song hit the Billboard charts was Bill Haley's Crazy Man Crazy in 1953. At the same
    time, Sam Phillips was recording the first Elvis Presley album in his studio. Sun, using two recorders to
    produce the audio delay effect called "slapback" that would become the typical rockabilly sound.

    Bill Halley & The Comets released the song "Rock around the clock", which finished
    being recorded in mid-April 1954. The song is included in the album "Shake rattle &
    roll" (1955), and is considered by some as the first rock and roll in history.
