what do midwives do during labor ?

During labour, the midwife will monitor labor contractions

and check for cervical dilation.
The midwife also monitors the mother's blood pressure and
temperature and listens to the fetal heartbeat. In addition,
the midwife will teach you breathing techniques to be more
relaxed in dealing with waves of contractions.
what midwives do after delivery ?

midwives should conduct monitoring in the first hour

after delivery. Examination of vital signs is mandatory
after the delivery process is complete, especially in the
first twenty-four hours. This examination includes
monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature,
respiratory rate, and the amount of blood that comes out
of the vagina.
The role and responsibilities of midwives in the postpartum
period.

- Maintain the health of the mother and baby, both physically and psychologically.
Carry out comprehensive screening, detect problems, treat or refer if complications
occur to the mother or baby.
- When is the right time for midwives to provide postpartum
services ?
In standart midwifery services, midwives provide services for mothers during the
puerperium through home visits on the third day, second week and sixth week after
delivery to assist the mother and baby’s recovery process through proper handling of
the umbilical cord, early detection, treatment or referral for complications.
How many times did the health workers carry out nursing visits
during the puerperium?

Conduct control/visit at least four times, namely at six

hours, six days, two weeks, and six weeks after delivery.
Check blood pressure, vaginal bleeding, perineal
condition, signs of infection, uterine contractions, fundal
height, and temperature regularly.
