DEFINITION

 Interview is an interaction in which the teacher parents a student with


planned sequence of questions, listens to response, ask further questions,
and record data.
 It is an opportunity for the teacher to probe the students understanding of a
topic in ways that cannot be used effectively with other forms of assessment.
PURPOSE OF INTERVIEW

 To provide the teacher with insight about students' understanding in order to


refine and target learning.
 In looking for in-depth information on a particular topic.
COMPONENTS OF INTERVIEW

 Make interview comfortable
Body of Interview
 Desidered in information is gathered through questions
 Start with easy question to complex question

 Summarize the key points
 End by Thanking
SUGGESTION FOR INTERVIEWING

 Create a friendly and open environment.


 Wait to establish rapport, before asking sensitive questions.
 Pay close attention to your own language, maintain appropriate levels of eye
contact.
 Questions should be clear and directly related to the topic.
 Keep eye on the time.
 Always thank the interviewee (the students) at the end of the interviews.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Advantages:
 Interview provide in Depth Information.
 The interviewer (The teacher) tea can observe the non-verbal behaviors of an
interviewee (The students)
Disadvantages:
• Candidates can rehearse answers.
• It's time-consuming.
• You'll need a trained interviewer.
• Interviewer bias will affect the decision.
• There's no one present to assess the interviewer's method.
• It's costly.
• Interview techniques could be inconsistent.
• Possible interview fatigue.
