Who are they?
 Nomads & Hunter-Gatherers
 Lived in a large region called the Gran Apacheria
 The Gran Apacheria, a territory from Western
Arizona to Eastern Texas, and from Northern
Colorado to Mexico in the South. 
Who are they?

 The Eastern and the Western tribes


 The Rio Grande River, a natural dividing line.
 Today, mainly located in reservations in
Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
The name “Apache”

 The name 'Apache' used by the Spanish,


meaning 'enemy.'
 'Inde,' meaning 'the people.'
 Made up of many independent tribes such as
the Lipan, Limita, Conejero, and Trementina
