Summary of the previous chapter:
 The king with his two friends Fritz and Sapt invites
Rudolf to go hunt.
 in the hunting lodge, they decide to dine. In some point
of the night Josep, the servant, gives a cake to the king
telling him that his brother sent it to him, he eats the cake
without sharing with anyone.
 In the night they discover that the king is sick and
everything points that, Michael, his brother was the
responsible.
 Summary of the
previous chapter:
• Rudolf has to supplant the
king at the coronation, so
they immediately leave for
Strelsau, the capital, where
Rudolf is crowned,
• then they escape to Zelda
looking for the true king.
• when they arrived, all they
found was Josep, the
servant, dead on the floor of
the hunting lodge, there was
no sign of the king.
 Characters evolution:
• Rudolf Rassendyll: Is an Englishman who is 29 years
old, he has red hair, a large nose and blue eyes. He
loves travelling and has nothing to do with his life.
Across the story he will have to supplant the king of
Ruritania.

and the capital Strelsau. lodge, a cathedral, a summerhouse and
a great old palace.
 • Rudolf and Sapt go to the hunting
lodge and find that the king has been
3 important events: kidnapped, so Rudolf will have to
continue occupying the king's place.
• When they leave the hunting lodge
Rudolf and Sapt find the murderers
of Josep, the servant. they decide to
take revenge before escaping.
• Rudolf receives a letter from
Antoinette de Mauban and at night
he meets her, and she tells him
Michael's plans to kill him and his
friends.
 Summary of the chapter:
• After finding the body of Josef, Rudolf
will have to continue supplanting the
king until they can rescue him.
• They fight with the murders of Michael
as revenge, then they return to Strelsau.
• In the following days Rudolf is dedicated
to meet important people of Ruritania
and visit to the princess Flavia.
• He receives a letter from Antoinette de
Mauban who tells him to meet her in
the garden at night.
• She tell him that the men's of Michael
will come to kill him and his friends
• In that moment, the 3 men arrive and he
decides to occupy a table like a shield to
escape along with Antoinette of the
assassins.
