He was an African Writer, Teacher, Sociologist and Activist
The lives of black citizens in American Society were changed by WEB
Du Bois.
He wrote many Non-fiction books, articles, auto biographies and
novels.
W. E. B. Du Bois As A Clinical Sociologist
1- Du Bois countered so-called scientific racism of Social Darwinism
which theoretically has justified the curse of colonialism.
2- Founded (NAACP) and led Niagara Movement aimed to abolish Jim
Crow laws which institutionalized racial segregation under the legal
judgment of “separate but equal”.
3- Advocated nuclear disarmament.
4- He conducted empirical research of “Philadelphia Negro” and
walked door to door in ‘Seventh Ward’ to collect diverse data which
can help in identifying pathologies in Black community i.e crime rates,
illiteracy.
