2
INTRODUCTION
• The hydroponic system allows large quantities of food
to be planted in places that would naturally never be
fertile or useful (Ortiz M., 2017).

• A hydroponic system has a greater cleanliness and

hygiene in crop management, high percentage of
automation, better and higher product quality, high
yields per unit area, possibility of repeatedly
harvesting the same plant species per year, and
finally, develops non-nutrient-free chemicals (Beltrano
J. & Gimenez D., 2015)

3
PROBLEM STATEMENT
• The global demand of agricultural
products will increase 100-110% from
2005 to 2050 (Monsees, H., et al; 2019).
• In the state of Puebla it is observed that
from the year 2000 to 2019 the population
has had a growth of approximately 25%
(INEGI, 2015).

4
Justification

• Look forward to find a better alternative

• Urban areas
• Benefits small farmers
• Regulated environment (nutrients, water,
temperature, humidity and hours of light)
• All year available

Solves:
• Transport of food
• Reduce area of planting
• Reduce resources (water and nutrients) by 50%
5
General objective

• Develop an automated nutrient

dispensing system for a hydroponic
practice for small urban farmers

6
Create a complete hydroponic system on a
smaller scale

Control pH and nutrients in water

Specific
Objectives
Improve conditions for the crobs

Develop a low-cost and efficient

hydroponic system

7
Theoretical Framework

Current issues of overpopulation:

Deficiency of agricultural products

Lack of space for agriculture

Increased pollution
8
Advantages of

• Cares
• Resources
• Independence
