• Usually consists of two or more paragraphs.

• The body talks about one reason and should be supported by pieces of evidence.

• Statistics, articles, quotations, and etc.


The Features of the Body of an

Reasoning - is the process for making clear how your evidences supports your claim.

Evidence - refers to facts, documentation or testimony used to strengthen a claim, support an


2 argument or reach a conclusion.

Counterclaim - refers to a claim for relief field against an opposing party after the original
3 claim is filed.

Tone Style and Tone of Language - refers to the language which is used to support or to
oppose the argument or claim such as additionally, however. It also refers to the connecting
4 words which should be used in showing reasons such as because, mainly, so, therefore, and
etc.

• Restates the main claim.

• Give one or more general statements that would summarize the argument and support the
main point or thesis statement.
• It should offer the final impression of the argument.

• It should summarize the key supportinng ideas in your


argument.

• The conclusion must be compelling or thought-provoking.
