Definition of management symptoms

The understanding of symptom management according to


the National Cancer Institute Dictionary of Cancer Term is
"Treatment is given to improve the quality of life of patients
who have serious or life-threatening illnesses, the goal of
symptom management is to prevent or treat as early as
possible symptoms of the disease, side effects caused by
treatment illness, and psychological, social and spiritual
problems related to the disease or it’s treatment ".
Coversation : Dimension of Patient’s
Sympotoms
Andin is suffering from stomachache. She is now in the
hospital and a nurse is helping her to recover. Read the
following conversation.
 Andin : Oh, My stomachache is too bad.
 Nurse : What does it like?
 Andin : It seems a needle prick on my stomach
 Nurse : Please lay down here. I will give a first aid.
 Andin : Thanks
 Nurse : This way help you heal the pain. Don’t move.
Just lay down here for several minutes.
 Andin : Thanks a lot.
 Nurse : What do you feel now?
 Andin : I feel better now.
 Nurse : I am happy to hear that. Does the pain occur
frequently?
 Andin : No, it doesn’t. I just suffer it.
 Nurse : When did you feel it?
 Andin : The Morning. Ouch. It hurts again
 Nurse : You are not totally curred,then. Please still lay
down here. The doctor will examine you
 Andim : Can you give any medicine?
 Nurse : Sorry, I can’t. But, You can useit to heal the pain.
