• Pulau Tinggi is located about 20
nm from Mersing.
• Accessible by boat from Tg Leman
or Mersing jetty.
• Surrounded by islands such as
Pulau Sibu, Pulau Rawa, Pulau
Tioman and islets such as Pulau
Mentinggi, Pulalu Nanga Besar.
• Gazetted as Marine Park in 1993.
• Inhabited by a number of villagers
(200-300 people).
• The name was inspired from the
highest peak of this island.
TRIP’S PURPOSE
• To gain experience for field work at a different environment.
• To collect plankton samples in order to differentiate the species
between habitat.
