Story (1. -10.)
On a bright summer morning, hundred
of years ago, two young lads were in the
garden in the old city of Rome. From
where they stood, they could see their
mother some distance away, seated on the
garden bench, talking to a friend. The
woman was known for her beauty and
jewels. The two lads still considered their
mother the prettiest and the kindest
woman.
They saw the woman took out
all her jewelries from a box. She
watched with great admiration.
There were chains and necklace,
bracelets and bands, coronets and
rings and pins. There were milk-
white pearls, blood-red rubies,
green emeralds, sky-blue sapphires
and diamonds that burned with a
cold-white fire.
As she slowly put back the jewels in the
box, the lady asked, “And now Cornelia,
will you show me your jewelry. I am sure
you, too, have precious ones, although you
never wear them.”
Smiling proudly, Cornelia called her
two sons to her side.
“I have no bright stones my friend,” she
