The Law in Thailand
When traveling in Thailand you need to be respectful of 3 very important
rules to remember.
1. Never speak bad about the Thai royal family, especially the king. Do
not vandalize Royal family images, like posters or book pages. Even
writing something insulting about the Thai royals can be dangerous.
An Australian man was jailed for three years for writing three
sentences in a book that were considered insulting to the King.
2. Never swear at Thai people/ Goverment offcials/ Police/ Airport
Customs officers. Swearing at an immigration offcial at the airport
will get you prison time.
3. Don't get caught using drugs in Thailand
Thailand has very strict drug laws. If you get caught smoking a joint it
will cost you around 1,000 USD just to stay out of jail. If you get
caught trafficking/ selling drugs in Thailand you will end up in jail,
maybe for a long time.
