Calibration
Calibration
1. Prepare a High
Concentration Standard
2. Prepare a Low
Concentration Standard.
3. Read fluorescence of
both standards while
flowing them through the
instrument.
4. Enter the concentrations
of both standards.
Calibration Bottles & Valves
Prepare Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)
Standard
1. Pipette 100 μL of oil into a 100 mL
volumetric flask.
2. Fill the flask to the mark with IPA.
3. Tightly cap the flask and shake it
vigorously to dissolve the oil.
a. Ultrasonic bath may be required for viscous oils.
b. Viscous oils may not completely dissolve.

Oil Concentration = 1000 ppm

Standard Solutions
1. Choose a Standard Solution concentration.
Example: 5 ppm
2. Using a graduated cylinder, add IPA
Standard to the 1 gallon Cal Solution bottle.
Add 3.79 mL IPA Standard for each 1 ppm.
Example: Add 18.95 mL IPA Standard to
make a 5 ppm Cal Solution.
3. Fill the Cal Solution bottle to the 1 gallon
mark with Blank water.
4. Tightly cap the bottle and shake it
vigorously.
