PREPOSITION

A preposition is a word or set of words that indicates


location (in, near, beside, on top of) or some other
relationship between a noun or pronoun and other parts
of the sentence (about, after, instead of, in accordance
with).
Examples:

She lost her ring at the


beach.

The caterpillar turned into


a butterfly.
She left muddy footprints
on the clean floor.

The train went through


the tunnel.

CONJUNCTION

A conjunction is a part of speech that connects words,


phrases, or clauses in a sentence.
CONJUNCTION - TYPES
Examples:
He is tired, for he works really
hard.
Although he felt sick, he came to
work.
He is neither employed nor
looking for a job.
You are both clever and beautiful.
I as well as you passed the examination.
Robbers not only looted the village but also set homes on fire.
Sara and Julia are sisters. Both are intelligent.
He not only passed the exam but also got a distinction.
There were young as well as adult students.
Cats and dogs are pets.
Coffee was both delicious and creamy.
Bob and Tom were watching the movie.

Interjections are words used to express strong feeling or


sudden emotion. They are included in a sentence to
express a sentiment such as surprise, disgust, joy,
excitement or enthusiasm.

Yay, it is finally Friday and the

Hurray! The cup belongs to us.
