To train Call Center users how to navigate and order duplicate
forms in the Convey Taxport tax reporting internet based
application and to train the users how to answer policy owner
questions regarding 1099 tax forms.

Overview
CONVEY TAXPORT
Convey is a company which provides 1099 and W-2 processing,
printing and tax reporting software and services.
Taxport contains 1099 tax forms for the current year and previous
years.
The system was initiated in 2002 for the 2001 tax year.
Current year tax information can be viewed in Taxport on January
of the following year; i.e. 2010 tax information will be available by
January 2011.

Overview
CONVEY TAXPORT
All Contact Center phone representatives should be able to view
and order duplicate 1099 forms.
Address changes made in Taxport do not update LifeComm or
Vantage records. If the policy is active, then change the address in
the appropriate system (LifeComm 86-- using the Script, and
Vantage. You may also refer to the AWD Quick Reference Worktype
Matrix for the correct worktype to create).

TaxForms – Click this button to navigate to a screen where you can
search for Recipients and their associated tax forms.

1042-S – This button appears only if you have been setup with the
1042-S functionality.

Tickets – This menu appears if you have been setup with the
“Customer Service Workflow” functionality.

Rejects – This button appears if you have been setup to work with
Recipients and/or Tax Form records that were not successfully
added to the database you are currently in because they contained
errors or non-compliant information.

users will not need to access PowerView.

Use the TaxYear menu only if you need to change the tax year
(database) you will be working in. Normally, this will already be set
for you when you open Taxport™.

When you click on “TaxYear”,

a drop down menu will display
a list of all databases that
your company administrator
has currently setup.
You may, for instance, have a
database for the existing tax
year and another for the prior
year, and still another for a
test database.

working with when viewing and printing data in
Convey.

all associated Tax Forms will display below the summary Recipient
information.

To Display Tax Form Information and Options:

Click on the “View” link to the right of any Tax Form line. The Tax
Form’s data will then display directly below. Only Tax Form lines
that have a value will display. At the bottom, depending on your
setup and privileges, you may see links to additional options such
as “Edit form”, “Output Events”, and “Print”.

 Print: Clicking this link will open a print ready view of the form. Depending

statements.
 Transactions: Displays all transactions that have been performed on this
form since it was first entered into the database. For instance, if a box
amount has been updated, the Transactions detail will show the date the
box was changed and the former value along with additional information.
 Output Events: Displays a record of key events in the life of the tax form
since it was entered into the database. For instance, the Output Event
detail would show if the record has been printed, who printed it and when.

 Follow normal verification procedures prior to

ordering the form.
 We cannot e-mail 1099 forms through Convey.

 If a caller wants a form faxed, follow the same

procedure as when printing but select the printer to
RightFax Fax printer.
