The story of Piña is widely popular among the Filipinos. It seems like
the story came from a far province in the Philippines. Philippines is a
tropical country where a lot delicious fruit grows, including piña where
the story is inspired. Naturally, folktales are also considered oral
tradition and no one really knows where it came from.
LINGUISTIC

The story uses Filipino as the language since this story was told to stop
children from being lazy in the Philippines. The story is adapted in
various languages and dialects in the Philippines as it was popular
among the many fruit story in the Philippines. It was also adapted in
English.
HISTORY

Its history is actually connected as to how not many Filipinos are well
off and had to work more than some people but still earning less. In the
story, it depicted how the family was poor and that the fact that Piña
had to be raised by a single mother was a difficult task for anyone, and
on top of that Piña was lazy which made it more difficult.
ETHNIC

Piña or pinya is actually a popular fruit in the Philippines. The story's


ethnic dimension can be traced down to the Filipinos. Mostly, Filipinos
are hard workers although some are lazy, this hard-working trait is
common amongst the Filipinos. We can relate this story to us Filipinos
because as we know Filipino mothers is known as being caring and
loving with their children, just like the mother portrayed in the story.
