SCHEME(MGNREGS)
The scheme was launched on feb 6,2006. under this scheme 100 days of guranteed
wage employment is is provided in every financial year .now the no. of days have
been raised to 150. During 2016-17 the scheme provided emloyment to 5.12
crore household.
THE wages paid in this scheme have been linked with consumer orice index for
agriculture labour(CPI-AL).
This scheme is a temporary measure ,not a permanent scheme of rural
unemployment.
Under this scheme the work is guaranteed only for one member of the household
.
There are widespread complaints of corruption.
