Asking permission memiliki arti meminta izin dari seseorang, sedangkan giving
permission yaitu memberikan izin. Ada beberapa ungkapan yang digunakan untuk
meminta dan memberi izin. Ungkapan memberi izin bisa bersifat accepting
(menerima) dan refusing (menolak).
