Paper recycling is the process of recovering paper already created and used to transform
it into new paper products. There are three categories of paper that can be used as raw
material for recycled paper: ground, pre-consumption waste and post-consumer waste.
¿WHAT IS PAPER RECYCLING?
Its general rule is to produce new paper, called recycled paper. to obtain it, it is
obtained well by ground paper, which is the one that is obtained from pieces and
paper cuttings from paper manufactures, pre-consumption paper or post-consumer
paper, which is obtained mainly from magazines, newspapers and All kinds of
documents we usually throw.
When the recycling plant selects paper, and finds it suitable for recycling, it is
called paper waste.5613666379
¿how it helps the environment recycle
paper?
Energy saving: The manufacture of paper from recycled paper means a saving of
70% of the energy (more than in glass) that would be used if it were manufactured
from wood or virgin fibers
Resource savings: By recycling, the paperboard industry could be supplied with
almost 69% of the resources needed
Improves air and water quality: Recycling paper means a 74% decrease in gas
emissions and a 35% reduction in water pollutant emissions
Waste is prevented from going to the landfill or incinerator
PAPER RECYCLING PROCESS
First, paper pasting, which involves adding chemical solvents so that the paper
fibers separate.
The second step of paper recycling consists of a sieve of all material that is not
paper.
Then, all the material is centrifuged, so that these are separated by their density,
for their subsequent passage, which is flotation, where the ink is removed with air
bubbles.
All this paper pulp is then washed to remove any small particles that may remain,
to finally bleach the paper with hydrogen peroxide or sodium hydrosulfite.
