exclamatory sentences.
• Classify sentences according to their uses.
• Construct declarative, interrogative, imperative
and exclamatory sentences.
There are four types of sentences:

Declarative
Imperative
Exclamatory
Interrogative
Declarative
• A Declarative sentence
tells something about a
person, thing, place or
event.
• It is punctuated by a
period.
• Example: My mother
bakes cookies.
Imperative
• Imperative sentences
issues a command or
express a request.
• It ends in a period or
exclamation mark.
• Example: Close the door
(command) Please be
quite. (request)
Interrogative

• Interrogative sentences
usually uses wh- questions or
Yes-No questions.
• It ends in a question mark.
• Example: Is it raining?
Exclamatory
• Exclamatory sentences
expresses strong feelings or
emotions such as anger,
sorrow, grief, surprise or the
like.
• It ends with an exclamation
point.
• Example: The house is on fire!
