statement that tells people about
something : public or formal words that
announce something.
 Types of announcement :

• Report activities
• News wedding, birthday, and inaguration
• Winner announcement
• Job vacancies or new admissions
• Missing person
• Obituary
• Something said, written, or printed which is
containing information about an event that
has happened or is going to happen. The
purpose is informing something to public.
Announcement can be spoken (oral) or
written. It gives details about the event briefly,
clearly and accurately. It provides information
on what, where, when, why, who and whom.
 Purpose
• The purpose of announcement is giving
certain people some information what has
happened or what will happen.
 Generic Stucture:
• Opening (greeting or asking attention)
Good morning/afternoon/evening/attention please/this is an announcement.
Addressing (to whom the announcement is)
Dear participants,,,; to all students…; announcement to all passengers…
 
• Content (giving announcement, usually instruct
someone to do something)
