Rituals and stories

Team Housekeeping
Candle setup

• The candle symbolizes light in the amongst

the darkness and also is considered
auspicious as per various traditions.

• Lighting a candle under dim lighting also

helps us to synch the natural body cycles
thereby bringing about a sense of calmness.

• The ritual starts at 18:00 hours and enables

to spread the warmth of hospitality.
Groot to the rescue

• Seeing that many guests are travelling

alone, we decided to give them a sense of

belonging by introducing plant

companion in the room.

• By aptly naming him “Groot” we keep the

succulent plant along with a hand written

note as a personal touch.

Good vibes every step of the
way
• Known as the water bamboo / lucky bamboo, this
plant actually is a resilient member of the lily
family.

• The placement of this plant is considered

auspicious and we went ahead with their
placement instead of regular floral arrangements in
our lift landing areas.

• Wishing for the well being of our guests, 3 stalks

representing Fu (Happiness), Lu (Wealth) and Soh
(Longevity) are placed in the lift landings.
Health is wealth

• Keeping in line with the focus on

importance of health, we have begun

with the placement of soaked almonds as

a turndown amenity.

• This has been appreciated by many guests

and has in turn become a talk points

focusing on health.
Purity and serenity

• In regards to the rooms, we have also gone away

with the floral décor and have instead worked our
way around with meaningful plants – keeping in
mind the current situation.

• Philodendrons are placed in our suite rooms to add

to the lush look – in addition they are known to
remove toxins from the air and produce oxygen.
Surprises are what matters

• We had a guest who while conversing mentioned that

he was getting his wife and daughter on a vacation
post lockdown and that it was his daughter’s birthday.

• Guest did not expect the setup but as a surprise,

team HK had done an elaborate setup keeping in
mind the preferences of the guest’s daughter –
whose profile we found online.

• Guest and his family were delighted with the setup

and have since remembered Conrad Bengaluru as the
place to go to.
A sense of belonging

• In these modern times where electronic means of

communication is the main go to, we tried things
differently by placing positive hand written notes
along with decorations to make our guests feel that
they belong.

• This always emits a response from the guest where

they are heart touched by the whole experience.
Ideas are meant be exciting

• We had a guest who wanted to discuss about

decoration – upon contacting guest mentioned his
ideas for the setup – from placement of specific
varieties of flower to the color of the chocolate and
the leaves.

• All said and done, the end result was amazing and
was worth every bit of the effort – that was seen
when the guests themselves were pleasantly
surprised with the setup

• We are indeed architects of memorable experiences.
