HISTORY OF CRY
 Rippan Kapur, the airline purser who founded
CRY.
 An ordinary person driven by an extraordinary
dream.
 The dream that no Indian child would be deprived of
rights as basic as survival, participation, protection and
development.
 Rippan and 6 of his friends started CRY with Rs.
50/- around Rippan's mother's dining table. As he put
it, "What I can do, I must do”.
 CRY was officially registered on January 28, 1979.
 Rippan died in 1994, at 40. CRY continues to
grow.

child and so motivate Them to confront
the situation through collective Action
thereby giving the child and themselves
an Opportunity to realize their full

PROJECT TITLE:-
Promoting Education amongst Children and increasing
awareness about RTE Act(RIGHT TO EDUCATION).
Area Under Study : Kalva(Thane).
THE RTE ACT
(RIGHT TO EDUCATION)
A fundamental for all children between the ages from 6 and 14.
SALIENT POINTS of the ACT INCLUDES:
Protect children from labour , marriage ,exploitation , children
abuse, violence and neglect.
Makes elementary education free and compulsory for the
state to provide.
Select quality norms for All schools
Select qualification and working norms for teacher in all school
Mandates education of children along their peer age group
provides for “special training” to facilitates age appropriate
education.
