Zoom
What is Zoom?
Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing tool that
lets you host virtual one-on-one or team meetings
easily. With audio, video and collaboration features,
this remote communication tool connects remote team
members with each other.

How do I join a Zoom meeting?
● Before joining a meeting, make sure your Zoom application is updated to the latest
version!
○ You can update your Zoom application through the App Store (for iOS), the Google
Play Store (for Android) and the Zoom website (for Desktop).
● You will also require a unique 9, 10, or 11-digit number called a meeting ID before joining
a Zoom meeting.
○ We will be sending you the link to the Zoom meeting, not to worry!

● Open the Zoom desktop client.


● Join a meeting using one of these methods:
○ Click Join a Meeting if you want to join
without signing in.

downloaded the Zoom mobile app yet, you can
download it from the Google Play Store.

● You will be given access to the Google Slides document/worksheet that you will be
using to craft your outputs on the session day.
● If you will be using a smartphone/tablet on the day of the session, please make sure
that you have downloaded the Google Slides app on your device.
○ For Android, simply go to the Google Play Store and search for “Google
Slides.”
○ For iOS, simply go to the App Store and search for “Google Slides.”
● If you can, try to familiarize yourself with the Google Slides interface already!

Add text or objects (shapes, lines, etc.) to a
slide - Desktop Version

● Go to the slide where you want to add a


text box or object.
● At the top, click Insert.
● Choose what you want to add, then click
Text box, Image, Shape, or Line.
● The object will get added to the slide and
you can arrange or format it however you
want by dragging it around the slide.

● On your device, open the presentation in


the Google Slides app.
● On the slide you want to add to, tap Add
(+).
● Choose what you want to add, then tap
Text, Image, Shape, or Line.

● In case you disconnect from the meeting during the session, wait for a few seconds and
try to rejoin the meeting again using the same procedures detailed above. Use the same
Zoom meeting link/ID that was given to you.
○ If you were previously in a breakout room, let the tech team know so they can put you back in the breakout room.
● If you are still having trouble connecting to the meeting, try troubleshooting your
internet connection.
● If the steps above still do not work, please let us know so we can help you. Here are our

Internet disruptions/connectivity issues
● If you anticipate that internet disruptions/connectivity issues will be a problem for you on
the session day, not to worry! We have prepared copies of the workshop materials that you
can print ahead of time to use on the day of the session.

possible) and upload them as a comment on the respective Facebook Digital Tayo Youth
