INTRODUCTION
Automatic Room Light controlling System is a
microcontroller based project that automatically
turn on or off the lights in a room. Electricity, being
one of the most important resources, must be
utilized carefully. The project implemented here is
one such project where the microcontroller based
system automatically controls the room lights.

Aim of this project is to automatically turn on or off the
lights in a room by detecting the human movement.We
implemented this project using 8051 Microcontroller and two
Infrared (IR) sensors.Electricity, being one of the most
important resources, must be utilized carefully. The project
implemented here is one such project where the
microcontroller based system automatically controls the
room lights.

This is the CPU of our project

We used AT89S52 microcontroller

It receives the signal from the sensors

This signal is operated under the control of software

which is stored in ROM

IcMicrocontroller At89S52 continuously monitor the IR receivers

HenWhen any object passes through the IR receivers, then the IR
rays falling on the receivers are obstructed

This obstruction is sensed by the microcontroller and count İs

displayed on seven segment display
IR SENSOR
A pair of LEDS can be used as IR sensors.

The first IR LED is used to emit signals

The second one receives the input and transmits the

signals.
HenWhen an object comes within the range of the
emitted IR, it reflects the IR back to the receiving LED

Then a signal is produced from the IR.

SCOPE

The project will be useful in schools, colleges, office and

conference halls
FUTURE EXPANSION

By using this circuit and proper power supply we

can implement various applications

Such as fan, tube ligths, A/C,etc.

By modifying this circuit and using two relays we can achieve a

task of opening and closing the door.

Maintenance cost is high

Wrong setup can make it difficult to use
