ACKNOWLEDGMENT
1. I would like to express my special thanks
of gratitude to my Maths teacher Mrs. Uma , who gave me this
golden opportunity to do a project on art and Maths integration.

She also helped me in completing this wonderful project.I am

really thankful to her.
I would also like to thank my friends and family for helping me
in this project in a limited time frame.
INTRODUCTION
2. In mathematics, arts can be used to observe,
describe and imitate the natural world. Natural shapes are
observed,drawn, measured, erected
In to a new structure. This helps bulid a bridge
between concrete and abstract mathematical
ideas.
This meets the needs of
diverse learning styles
and multiple intelligence. This
way
Learning gets easier.
MUBARAK MANDI PALACE
3. Mubarak Mandi is a Palace in Jammu,India. The
Palace was the royal residence of the Maharaja of
Jammu and Kashmir from the Dogra dynasty. It was
their main seat till 1925 when Maharaja Hari Singh
Moved to the Hari Niwas Palace in the northern part
of Jammu. The Palace is located in the heart of the
old walled city of Jammu and overlooks the Tawi
river.
The current design of this Palace is a culmination of
the efforts of Dogra rulers throughout 150 years.
Nowadays sections of
the palace house courts,offices and
4. the
Dogra Art Museum. But
it suffered from earth
quakes in 1980 and 2005.
DOGRAS’ speak the ‘’dogri’
languages of many western languages
spoken in Pahari
region. The architecture of
this heritage building is quite complex
and involves
both Mughal and Rajasthani
architecture.
ARCHITECTURE
5. The architecture of this heritage is a mix
Of Rajasthani architecture and European
Baroque, and Mughal styles. The complex is
Grouped around several courtyards and includes various
buildings and palaces like
the Darbar Hall Complex, the Pink palace,
The royal courts buildings ,Gol ghar complex
Rani Charak palace, Hawa Mahal, Toshakhana palace and
Sheesh Mahal.
The halls and galleries of the palace were
used for official functions and ceremonies.
COMPONENTS OF MANDI
6. COMPLEX
'The Dogra Art Museum is situated within the ‘Pink
Hall’. It has a rich collection containing miniature
paintings of various styles of the region. The
miniatures belong to the Kangra and Jammu art
schools. But
it also has a golden painted bow and arrow of Shah
Jahan. The pink hall owes its name to the pink
plastered walls of the palace section.
GOL GHAR SECTION
7. The Gol ghar section is located in the southern
Part of the Complex. It has four stoReys and overlooks the Tawi
river. It has been gutted down in the mid 1980’s as a result of an
earthquake. Consequently, roofs and floors collapsed, leaving the
building as a ruin.
The Sheesh Mahal is made entirely of glass.

This site is linked with a rope way running up

To the Bahu Fort, another heritage site in
the city.
INVOLVEMENT Of Maths
8. In indian heritage
The Gol Ghar Complex is a
component of
Mubarak Mandi Palace and
involves
maths in its structure.
It’s a huge dome like structure
which is hemispherical in shape
and is used as
a granary.

me while working on this project.
This project gave me a sense of development. I
had enjoyed every moment doing this project. I
have included all necessary points in this
project related to the topic. This project also
helped me understand mathematics better.
