would be workable in this country or acceptable
to Muslims unless it is designed on the following
basic principles, viz, that geographically
contiguous units are demarcated into regions
which should be so constituted with such
territorial adjustment as may necessary,
Pakistan Resolution 1940
• that the areas in which Muslims are numerically in
majority as in the North Western and eastern
zones of India, should be grouped to constitute
independent states in which the constituent units
shall be autonomous and sovereign adequate,
effective and mandatory safeguards should be
specifically provided in the constitution for
minorities for the protection of their religion,
cultural, economic, political administrative and
other rights.”
Pakistan Resolution 1940
• The resolution clearly mentioned that the
demarcation of the region should be made in
such a way that Muslim majority area be
governed independently by Muslims. The
constitution should also provide protection of
religion, culture, economic and other rights of
minorities living in those regions. Congress and
Hindus started to vomit poison against this
resolution. A wave of hate and enmity started
against Muslims throughout India. Hindus were
against the partition of India. They wanted to
keep Muslims their sub-ordinates.
Pakistan Resolution 1940
• But after the Pakistan Resolution the Muslims of
India wiped out the proposal of alliance with
Hindu community and moved on to get
independent state of Pakistan which they
achieved in 1947.
