Women playing hockey is nothing new
In this time, women's hockey has
been reasonably well received by
fans who often pay to see the
favorite teams of women battle it
out on the ice. In 1935, in Galt
(Ontario) the famed Preston
Rivulettes, drew more than 6,000
fans to one of their matches.

In the late 1930's, the Preston
Rivulettes had also planned to hockey
across Europe in an effort to include
women's hockey in the Olympic
Games.
Women's hockey was mostly kept for
war during the 1940s and 1950s.
In terms of hockey after the war, the
NHL came back stronger than ever
and became televised as of 1952.
