There are two types of suiciders. One is Suicide Completers and the other is Suicide
Attempters .
Suicide Completers tend to use more lethal methods such as firearms and hanging while
Suicide Attempters often use common methods such as taking overdoses or drowning.

Solution:
● If we made common suicide methods less accisable, number of suicides can
be decreased. For example restricting access to pesticides, firearms, and
known-used drugs.

● Suicides can be prevented by removing the means since it is an impulse

decision.

Preventing suicide

Population strategies

● Increasing public awareness

● Create protective environments
● Teach coping and problem -solving skills
● Strengthen access and delivery of suicide care

If you believe someone may be thinking about suicide:

● Call 911, if danger for self-harm seems imminent.
● Ask them if they are thinking about killing themselves. (This will not put the idea into their head or
make it more likely that they will attempt suicide.)
● Listen without judging and show you care.
● Stay with the person (or make sure the person is in a private, secure place with another caring person)
until you can get further help.
● Remove any objects that could be used in a suicide attempt.
Retaj maher

to file wrongful death lawsuit against the school district, attorney says here,
classmates would taunt her and call her names, including "whore" and
"slut,"In her suicide note, Rosalie apologized to her parents for being ugly."

Domestic violence
Domestic violence (also named domestic abuse or family violence) is often used as a synonym for
intimate partner violence, which is committed by one of the people in an intimate relationship against
the other person, and can take place in relationships or families. In its broadest sense, domestic
violence also involves violence against children, parents, or the elderly.

Forms of Domestic Violence

There are many types but these are the most common:
❏ Physical - Hitting, kicking, biting, slapping, pulling hair, stabbing, shooting, drowning, burning, hitting with an
object, threatening with a weapon, or threatening to physically assault and more.
❏ Verbal-Threatening to hurt or kill the victim or her children, name calling, telling victim they’re is unattractive or
undesirable, yelling, screaming,
❏ Economic- Controlling the family income, putting the victim on an allowance or allowing the victim no say in
how money is spent.
❏ Emotional-Using reality distorting statements or behaviors that create confusion and insecurity in the victim
like saying one thing and doing another, stating untrue facts as truth, and neglecting to follow through on stated
intentions. This can include denying the abuse occurred and/or telling the victim they’re is making up the abuse.
❏ Isolation-Isolation is a form of abuse often closely connected to controlling behaviors. It is not an isolated
behavior, but the outcome of many kinds of abusive behaviors. By keeping the victim from seeing who they want
to see, doing what they want to do, setting and meeting goals, and controlling how the victim thinks and feels.

Yumna Abdulqader
Facts about Domestic Violence

● Approximately one in four women (23% or 2.2 million) experienced violence by an

intimate partner, compared to one in thirteen men (7.8% or 703,700).
● 85% of domestic violence victims are women
● As many as 324,000 women each year experience intimate partner violence
during their pregnancy
● Boys who witness domestic violence are 2 times as likely to abuse their own
partners and children when they become adults
● Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women – more than car
accidents, muggings, and rapes combined
● In 60% to 80% of intimate partner homicides, no matter which partner was
killed, the man physically abused the woman before the murder
● Every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten.

Myth or reality?
1. People who talk about killing themselves don't do it; they are just looking for attention or it is just
a “cry for help.”

People who talk about killing themselves often make suicide attempts. it is not just a cry for.
2. Asking questions or talking about suicide with your friends will make them want to do it more.

Youth who are openly able to talk about the issue of suicide often have many beneficial outcomes,
including decreased risk for suicide.
3. People who are suicidal want to die.

People who are suicidal often just want the issue or problem to be solved.

Fatma Süleymanoğlu
Myth or reality?
4. If someone really wants to die by suicide there is little or nothing that can be done to stop it.
Often people who are suicidal are in a state of crisis. When the crisis passes, so too does the
suicidal behaviour.
5. Listening to certain music, playing certain video games or watching certain television
shows can make someone suicidal.
Doing these things can have a potentially negative impact on individuals who are already
vulnerable to suicidal thoughts or behaviours. If a person is not already suicidal, listening to
certain music or watching a particular movie will not lead a person to be suicidal.

Signs of Asperger Syndrome
Asperger’s syndrome [AS]

Syndrome; a group of symptoms which consistently occur together.

Asperger syndrome (AS), also known as Asperger's, is a
neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in
social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted
and repetitive patterns of behaviour and interests.
Asperger’s syndrome refers to a less severe form of autism that is
believed to affect nearly 1 in 59 children.
It's not uncommon for people to dismiss the behavior of a child with
Asperger's Syndrome as nothing more than antisocial tendencies
which will be outgrown. While a child may develop skills to cope,
Asperger's is a lifelong condition, which means it cannot be treated.

Tips on teaching asperger children how to describe emotions

● Teach them About Facial Expressions

You can utilize flashcards or photos to work on learning facial

expressions while you’re not in a social circumstance, so there is
far less weight on the child.

● Create an Emotions Chart

Sometimes, kids with Asperger’s syndrome (ASD) know what

they’re feeling, but they just don’t know the right way to
communicate it. Make a sentiments chart that has the names of
various feelings just as appearances that are demonstrating that
emotion.

Farah Islam
Are aspergers gifted?

An increasing number of individuals with autism or Asperger's are identified as being gifted.
These twice-exceptional learners are in good company.
