Global Warming

• Every year, scientists learn more about the effects of global warming, and
every year, additional evidence of its disastrous effects on people and the
environment emerges.Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and
other air pollutants collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar
radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface. Normally, this radiation
would escape into space, but these contaminants, which may linger in the
atmosphere for years or centuries, trap the heat and cause the planet to
become hotter. These heat-trapping pollutants such as carbon dioxide,
methane, nitrous oxide, water vapor, and synthetic fluorinated gases are
known as greenhouse gases, and their impact is called the greenhouse effect.
• Global warming has the potential to cause a slew of major environmental
changes. It can result in a rise in sea level, resulting in the loss of coastal land,
altered precipitation patterns, increased drought and flood risks, and
biodiversity problems.
1.Melting glaciers, early snowmelt, and severe droughts
-Melting glaciers, early snowmelt, and severe droughts will
cause more dramatic water shortages and increase the risk

Result of of wildfires.
2.Rising sea levels
-Rising sea levels will result in floods especially in coastal

Global areas. in addition, the occurrence of storm surges

associated with hurricanes and other storms will exacerbate
the floods.

Warming to
3.Forests, farms and cities will face new problems
-Heat waves, torrential rains, and increased flooding will be
bothersome new pests for forests, crops, and towns.
Agriculture and fisheries will be harmed or destroyed as a

Enviroment
result of all of these issues.
4.Distruption of habitats
-Many plant and animal species could become extinct if
environments such as coral reefs and Alpine meadows are
disrupted.
1.Infectious diseases
-Human health will deteriorate as a result of global warming,
especially in the tropics. Rising temperatures in countries like
Africa will cause mosquito populations to increase. this will lead

Result of global
to the danger of malaria, dengue fever and other insect -borne
diseases.
2.Heatwaves
-Long durations of extremely high temperatures can be dangerous

warming to
to the health of vulnerable populations including the elderly and
sick. The most common health effects of heatwaves are
hyperthermia or heat stroke which can be fatal if left untreated.
3.Loss of agricultural productivity
-Global warming can result in droughts that can worsen living

human health
conditions, especially in Africa. In addition, climate change can
also drastically change rainfall patterns, and risk water and food
supplies for millions. Rising temperatures could also result in food
shortages for 130 million people in Asia.
4.Asthma and other respiratory diseases
-People with heart problems, especially those who live in already
hot climates, are more sensitive to rising temperatures because
their cardiovascular systems must work more to keep their bodies
cool.
