Henry Fayol was born in France 1841.
He was the Father of Modern
Management and his Degree in Mining
Engineering in 1860. He started
working as Engineer in Coal Mines
Company. In 1888 he got promoted as
a Managing Director.

1.Division Of Work :- Dividing the full work of the
organization among
Individual and creating
departments.

2.Authority And Responsibility :- Balancing the Authorities


(power) and Responsibilities
(Duties)
3.Discipline :- Respect for the rules
and regulations of the
organization.

4.Unity of Command :- He must give commanding to his


sub-ordinate/employees in the
functions of organization.
5.Unity of Direction :- He must use the plans
for all activities aimed
at the same objective.
He should be organize
One Plan-One Person.
6.Subordinates Individual
Interest To General Interest :- Individual interest should
be given less importance,
while the general
interests should be given
the most.
7.Remuneration :- Compensation should be
based on systematic
attempt to reward good
performance.

8.Centralization :- In centralization the authority is


concentrated only in a few hands. i.e.,
Higher position managerial holds
decision making.
9.Scalar Chain :- Chain of command is usually
called as line of authority,
communication,
responsibility and decision
making process.

10.Order :- A place for everyone


and everything in its
place as right man
on right place.
11.Equity :- Managers must be kind
as well as equally fair to
his employees.

12.Stability of Tenure of
Personnel :- Employee needs time to
learn his job and to become
efficient and fair enough
time to settle into their
jobs.
13.Initiative :- Encourage the employees to
make their own plans and to
execute these plans.It
makes satisfaction to
employee.

14.Esprit-De-Corps :- The management should


create unity co-operation and
team spirit among employees.
