Waste to Wealth (W2W) Innovation Ideas
Pitching
• Each group has to choose a specific waste; it can be solid waste, wastewater or gases.
E.g.: Papers, mobile phones, etc. Innovate a product from the waste.
• The product has to be very appealing, has the potential to be very useful, the process to
get the product has to be practical, etc. Essentially, pitch your best shot of your product
to the judges.
• The judges are going to consider the following points;
 Practicality of the process
 Practicality of the product
 Market potential
 Product appeal factor/pull factor
 Novelty (Uniqueness)
Pitching process
• Prepare a 3 minute video to pitch your product.
• Consider the points in the previous slide while preparing for the video.
• Even the video has to be very creative and fun so that it will not bore the judges. The
judges will consist of engineers and professionals within the Environmental
Engineering field.
• Separately, please also prepare a poster about the product. The template is uploaded in
PutraBLAST.
Deadline
• Week 13 – 13 January 2021
• Please upload your poster and video link into Google Form submission by 13 of
January 2021 11.59pm.

What to do now?
• Select a waste. After you have decided selecting a specific waste, please update your
waste into the given Google Sheet link in PutraBLAST. This is to make sure that each
group will get different waste. There is no deadline in selecting waste, as long as you
don’t clash with other groups.
• Prepare the video and poster at your own time. You will have ample time to prepare the
video and the poster until Week 13. So, please prepare your best shot.
• This project will contribute to 10% into the final marks. So, do your best.
• At the end of the project, each of the group member needs to also fill a form to explain
the contribution of each group member.
