Types of Sandwiches: COLD SANDWICHES A cold sandwich has cold meats or veggies. 1. Cold Open Sandwich – It makes use of only one kind of bread with the filling on top. They are similar to canapes. 2. Regular Cold Sandwich – It is made up of two breads and usually has one filling. Freshest bread should be used for this sandwich. 3. Pinwheel Sandwich – They are made of bread cut lengthwise about 3/8 inch thick. Fresh cream bread is preferable because they are easy to roll and will not crack 4. Tea Sandwiches – They are small fancy sandwiches made from light, delicate ingredients and bread that has been trimmed of crusts. 5. Multi-Decker – Also known as club sandwich, they are made of three or more breads with several ingredients in the filling. 6. Wrap/Rolled Sandwiches – Wraps are sandwiches which ingredients are wrapped, like a Mexican burrito, in a large flour tortilla or similar flat bread. Types of Sandwiches: HOT SANDWICHES A hot sandwich is served hot and should be maintained hot. 1. Regular Hot Sandwich – Simple hot sandwich consists of hot fillings usually meats but sometimes fish, grilled vegetables, or other hot items, between two slices of bread. 2. Hot Open Sandwich – It is prepared with the bread or toast laid side by side with the filling exposed on the surface on both sides. The sandwich is then heated throughout. 3. Grilled Sandwich – It is a two slices of bread encasing the filling. The casing is buttered on the outside top and bottom and then placed or in a pan to brown both sides. 4.
