Chapter 1: Introduction and Background

Introduction

Researchers claim that pizza can actually help fight cancer. A study published in the

International Journal of Cancer stated that eating pizza regularly reduced the risk of developing

oesophageal cancer by 59%, throat cancer by 34 % and colon cancer by 26% (Agbo, 2018). It

might seem hard to believe but pizza is healthier than what you think because the tomato sauce

found in a pizza has a lycopene that helps to fight many diseases. Moreover, Chelsey Amer, a

registered dietitian, said that pizza is a healthier and well-balanced breakfast choice than cereal

for it is a good source of some essential nutrients such as fats, carbohydrates and protein that will

provide energy and satiety throughout the morning.

Need Identification

Breakfast is widely recognized as the most valuable meal of the day. Students who take

breakfast are more likely to have favorable nutritious intakes containing higher intake of dietary

fiber, total carbohydrates and lower total fat and cholesterol. However, 17% of students never

take their meal for breakfast at all and one of their reasons is the lack of time (Reuters, 2017).

Students who go to school without taking a breakfast meal will display the highest fatigue level

and will have a lower academic performance due to lack of focus and weak memory.

Furthermore, pizza is indeed a need as it can actually be a perfectly healthy meal that provides

ample nutrition to the body and metabolism. This product will be beneficial to studentsfor it will

keep them full and activeto show a great performance in school.

 History of the Company Name

The company will be named PARKASM Company. The name is a combination of the first

letters of the proponents’ first names (Pamela, Adrian, Russel, Kevin, Andrei, Sandra and

Pizza is a baked pie of Italian origin consisting of a shallow bread-like crust covered with

seasoned tomato sauce, cheese, and often other toppings such sausage or olive. The word pizza is

believed to be form an Old Italian word meaning “a point”, which in turn became the Italian

word “pizzicare”, which means “to pinch” or “pluck”.

The pizza have been invented by the Phoenicians, The Greeks, or The Romans or anyone,

in fact, who learned the secret of mixing flour with water and heating it on a hot stone. In one of

its many forms, pizza has been a basic part of the Italian diet since the Stone Age. This earliest

form of pizza was crude bread that was baked beneath the stones of the fire.

5
University of the Assumption PARKASM CO.

After cooking the crust, it was seasoned with variety of different toppings and used

instead of plates and utensils to sop up broth or gravies. It is said that the idea of using bread as a

plate came from the Greek who ate flat round bread called “plankuntos” baked with an

assortment of toppings. It was eaten by the working man and his family because it was a thrifty

and convenient food pizza baked a special pizza with tomato, mozzarella cheese and basil.

Currently, people often love to eat pizza. Though the taste is similar to each other and

Industry Analysis

Everyone agrees that pizza is a food institution. It might be a cheap meal after a game, a

date night, a weekly treat, a quick lunch, or even a breakfast.

As you have probably noticed, there seems to be plenty of parlors, stands, restaurants,

kiosks and counters peddling their own variety of pie. But despite the obvious accessibility of

pizza nearly everywhere, extremely strong demand together with the evolving tastes. More of

today’s pizza eaters want to be able to order online or from their smartphone, both of which are

prohibitively costly to implement for the typical mom-and-pop slices shop. Not only do people

prefer the convenience of digital ordering, studies show that people spend more when they order

online. They are also more likely to order again. Once they have ordered, chain stores can market

directly to these consumers again. They have also likely saved their payment information and

possibly stored delivery preferences.

The 80 million millennials purchasing pizza were expected to outspend baby boomers by

2017. Not only does this younger crowd look for the healthier options, they also consider

themselves “foodies” – interested in the experience of eating more than the nutrition.

to feel good about supporting establishments that focus on sustainability and natural ingredients.

has begun using more environmentally friendly packaging.

take much to improve someone’s day and leave a lasting impression.

4. Be Honest

No one knows everything about everything. Even the experts. If there is something

we do not know or are unable to answer, we find a resource that does. Be honest with your

customer and explain that you will find the answers they are seeking. They will appreciate

your honesty and that you are taking that extra step for them.

5. Keep In Touch

People appreciate follow-ups. A call to let them know when their purchase will be

arriving, or a follow up after the job is done to ensure that they were satisfied with their
