CHAPTER I

PROJECT

BACKGROUND

6
INTRODUCTION

Wrapped-ly meal is a food service and manufacturing industry which

promotes to have an easy-to-eat meal for everyone most importantly for

students. This company was made through the shared capitals from the

managers that were combined together to build up a business that was named

"Wrapped-ly meal". Wrapped-ly meal will be served as an eating place where

you can buy an easy-to-eat meal. But where did the Wrapped-ly meal came

from? The idea was made by owners aiming to provide an easy to eat meal for

consumers. From the usual lumpia which is a vegetables with pork wrapped in a

lumpia wrapper, it was then decided the business would be Wrapped-ly meal, an

all in one meal wherein a fried rice with carrots, ham, hotdog and egg are

wrapped in a lumpia wrapper which made it easier to eat.

The wrapped-ly meal has different flavors, you could choose from the

following: Hotdog and Ham with Carrots, Sisig, and Eggs with Carrots. There are

flavors for customers so they could choose which flavor would satisfy their

hunger and cravings. It has an affordable price so anyone could afford to buy

7
one. It also contains healthy ingredients so the customers are not only buying

meal that could satisfy their hunger, but at the same time they are consuming

healthy food that provides a nutrient that their body needs. The wrapped-ly meal

contains its main ingredient which is the rice. The rice has the ability to provide

energy and strengthen body movement, and it also controls the body sugar

levels. The body could also get vitamin B1 from consuming rice. There are also

other benefits that a person can get from eating a rice and those are the ability to

make skin healthier, regulate digestion, reduce high blood pressure and boost

metabolism which would be a good help to have a healthy and strong body.

Wrapped-ly meal also contains carrots (Daucus Carota), which is a primarily

source of beta carotene, fiber, vitamin K1, potassium, and antioxidants and is

considered and claimed as a perfect health food. The carrots could also help

improve eye health as well as it helps lower cholesterol levels and it can also be

used for weight loss (Bjarnadottir,A., 2019). Another ingredient of wrapped-ly

meal is egg. An egg is classified as one of the super foods as it is loaded with

nutrients. An egg contains a choline which is used to build cell membrane and it

is a nutrient that most people don't really know its existence. It also contains

vitamin A, folate, vitamin B5, vitamin B12, vitamin B2, phosporus and selenium.

Eggs also contain vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, vitamin B6, calcium and zinc. It
8
is also high in protein and it contains lutein and zeaxanthin, those are the

antioxidants that have a major benefit for eye health (Gunnars, K., 2018). These

ingredients make the product Wrapped-ly meal a healthy food as it contains

nutrients that the body needs. As the business goes on for year, the owners will

aim to attract customers by adding more flavors and by marketing it through

social media.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The researchers came up in opening a business that is easy to find and

will also offer you a lumpia that is unique with the others because it is made of

lumpia wrapper that has rice mixed with meal flavors. The researchers chose the

place located at Maysan Rd. Malinta, infront of Maricopa Restaurant, near beside

Lanbank of Valenzuela City.

NATURE OF BUSINESS

Food Service Industry. The owners came up to this product because food

is a basic necessity. The food service industry is providing a safe and digestible

food to meet our nutritional need. It is a high demand industry as it is noticed

9
here in the Philippines that there is a lot of fast food restaurant and restaurants

because we all know that Filipinos loves to eat.

Industry Profile

Wrapped-ly meal is aligning to food service industry in which they are

producing foods that is complete packaged, customers will enjoy eating it with

their family, friends or with their other love ones.

Type of Business

The Wrapped-ly meal business will be under genereal partnership as it

has four (4) owners who will share the same percentage of amount for the

business’ capital as it begins. A general partnership is a type of business wherein

there are more than two (2) owners that would be sharing for the business’

capital and who also responsible for the business’ actions and decisions.

IDENTITY

Business Name

It was decided that the business will be named "Wrapped-ly Meal"

because the name "Wrapped-ly" came from the word "rapidly" which means

10
"fast" since the food can be made and consume easily and at the same time the

food is wrapped in a lumpia wrapper so the idea was made of putting two ideas

together which lead the owners to name it “Wrapped-ly”. It is also called meal

because it contains ingredients that can satisfy the customer’s hunger and it is an

example of a complete meal.

Logo Rationale

Figure 1.1 Business Logo

The logo symbolize that the business is offering high quality products and good

services. The plate with the banana leaf under the food inside represents the

main product that it is a meal that can satisfy your hungriness. The banana leaf is

the one that will help to lessen the oily texture of the products so that the

11
packaging will not going to be messy. The color of it is ‘Orange’ because it is

near to golden brown, the color that indicates that it is already cooked

Location

Figure 1.2 Location of Wrapped-ly Meal

Wrapped-ly meal is located at #10 Taruc St. Cor. Maysan road Valenzuela

City. In front of St. Louis College Valenzuela, beside LPG store, and near

Landbank, Valenzuela. The first step is to select a right location because it is

essential to business, so the management considered locations where schools

and factories are nearby. The managers search for a location that is have

12
enough customers to buy the product. And next the managers will determine the

maximum cost to pay for a new location.

Vicinity Map

Figure 1.3 Wrapped-ly Vicinity Map Meal

The Wrappes-ly Meal store is located near 2 schools which are the Our
Lady of Fatima University and St. Louis College of Valenzuela. As the students
are really busy nowadays, they often forget or neglects to eat properly because
of many school works so the product of Wrapped-ly Meal can greatly help them
have a proper and healthy meal without taking much of their time to do their
school works. It's price is also affordable and great for the student's budget
considering that they can fill their hungry stomachs with a healthy meal.

But this store location also have many food service competitors nearby.
They are the Chicago's Burgers, Maricopa Restaurant and Las Veras. These
13
food services have products that can surely attract customers but compare to our
product, they are pricey and too much for the student's budget and the students
doesn't have much time to spare just to eat there.
