Introduction
Filipino loves eating, meeting and celebrating any important event in their
lives. These festivities also represent the Filipino family's relationship and unity.
Even before the conquest of different nationalities, the historical roots of the early
Filipinos had already represented culture and characteristics. Yet Filipinos'
expectations have changed over time through the years of innovation and
technology. The current generation was able to cope with the people in their
environment's quick phase lifestyle. And with this, convenience plays a major role in
customer satisfaction, apart from other key factors. With every service that will be

5
delivered, convenience is already a must. This is the main reason why several
retailers, such as one-stop shops, fast food chains, catering services, are growing
steadily.

And as Filipinos celebrate with their family or friends at any significant event,
the quest for comfort, good planning, excellent service, quality food and stylish
presentation will be key factors in calling a successful event. Therefore, for good
reason, more and more people turn to professional caterers ' services for weddings,
private dinner parties and corporate events. To run a successful event or gathering,
it takes a lot of preparation and planning. You can save yourself from the boring
preparation of food with the help of a professional catering service and just enjoy the
time with your family and guests.

Name of the firm

The proposed name of our firm is “Barkadas’ Kitchen and Catering Services”
because since college we are already know each other and we tend to come up that
someday we were going to have a business. And with that we decided to make it
real. Barkada’sKitchen is a place where you can eat comfortably just like you were
with you friends. Promoting a healthy and convenient way of eating by introducing
varieties of Filipino dishes to the consuming public. Catering Services because we
also offer catering services that is why we came up to our business name “Barkadas’
Kitchen and Catering Services”.

Location
The Location of our firm will be in Roxas Avenue Zone III Digos City, Davao
del Sur near in University of Mindanao Digos College. The business is located here
because it is near to our target market and competitors.

Management Feasibility Summary

Barkadas’ Kitchen and Catering Services is a partnership form of business
ownership which will handle the management of the business. There is a store
manager who is over all in charged for the day-to-day operation of the business. At
the present, the business has the total of 9 employees and as the business grows
new employees will be hired for the minor business operation. Through an organized
organizational structure, there will be a smooth operation of the business and also

6
based on the technical knowhow of the managers, therefore, this business is feasible
in this aspect.

Market Feasibility Summary

The market projection of this business is based on the information gathered
within the vicinity of Digos City. Projection of demand, supply, and sales for the first
five years of operation is based on the different factors like the population growth,
market acceptability, capacity to supply and other factors. This study is feasible
because our target populations are willing and capable of availing our products and
services. We also consider factors like our competitors and prevailing prices of the
suppliers that will affect our prices. Based on our demand supply analysis we found
out that we can supply the available market based on our production capacity.

Technical Feasibility Summary

A large part of the determining resources has to do with assessing technical

feasibility. It considers the technical requirements of the proposed project. The
technical requirements are then compared to the technical capability of the
organization. The systems project is considered technically feasible if the internal
technical capability is sufficient to support the project requirement.

The analyst must find out whether current technical resources can be
upgraded or added to in manner that fulfills the request under consideration. This is
where the expertise of system analyst is beneficial, since using their own experience
and their contact with vendors they will be able to answer the question of technical
feasibility.

Financial Feasibility
Each of us will have our contribution in the capital of the business. The
proponents will also make projected financial statements to somehow disclose
information on financial position, performance. A study on whether a project is viable
after taking into consideration its total costs and probable revenues. If the revenues
cover the costs of the project, then the project is visible.

Social or Economic Desirability

The business is also expected to benefit the students and unemployed who
want to earn extra money or income particularly in Digos City. This benefit will

7
redound to their family, the local food industry and their communities. It will also
provide jobs to 20 personnel. In addition, it will provide the government and to the
people by paying the taxes to the business. For its five years of operation, a total of
in income taxes alone will be paid to the government in a span of five years. Lastly,
Barkada’s Kitchen & Catering Services will provide a friendly, comfortable
atmosphere where the customer can receive good and satisfying delicious meal,
services and entertainment at a reasonable price.

8
The Company Logo

Our company logo was made as we all partners decide its design on how it
will looks like. We came up with the idea of this logo that it must be simple but yet
have the sense of elegance, easy to recognize and it is appealing to the people. We
choose “Black and White” because its colors can lead customers to focus attention
quickly and get people’s attention to it. Although the world of advertising began in
black and white, these colors are the most versatile colors of them all because they
go with every color out there. That proponent desired to gratify for our customers.

In a business we do experienced failure but it doesn’t mean we won’t be able

to overcome. As the shape of our logo which is circular figure that signifies as
universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notions of totality,
wholeness, original perfection of our firm.

9
Types of Business Organization

Barkada’s Restaurant and Catering Services is a General Partnership type of

business. It would be owned, operated and sustained by nine (9) partners.
Partnership as defined in Article 1767 of the Civil Code of the Philippines is a
contract, of an association of two or more persons engaged in a certain business
bind themselves to share money, property, or industry to common fund. Both owners
are equally and personally liable for the debts from the business. All partners are
responsible for the business, and they share all assets, liabilities and profits within
the partnership as a separate entity. General Partnership assumes that profits,
liability and management duties are divided equally among partners. If you opt for an
unequal distribution, the percentages assigned to each partner must be documented
in the partnership agreement.

Some of the advantages considered in establishing a partnership are:

1) Ease of Organization;

2) To collaborate the wider pool of talents, judgments, evaluation and knowledge and
skill of the partners will be merge and to provide and creating brain storming for the
success of the business.

3) More capital available for the firm the ability to raise fund may be increase, both
because two or more partners may be able to contribute more fund and because
their borrowing capacity may be greater.

4) Maximization of personal interest of the proponents to the success of the firm.

5) Definite legal status of the company:

6) Pass through profits and taxation: because individual forms of partnership they
are tax just like sole proprietorship. Each includes his/her business income on
his/her personal tax return.

MANAGEMENT

ASPECT

11
Management Feasibility

The Management Feasibility is the study that concerns the organizational set
up of the business, which includes the organizational chart and the qualifications of
the people involved and managed the business. It also determines the type of the
business ownership.

The term “Management” in this section refers to the scientific and procedural
contributions of human resources towards the accomplishment of the proposed
business endeavor. This section, therefore, determines the human resource
requirements of the project.

Since organizations can be viewed as systems, management can also be

defined as human action, including design, to facilitate the production of useful
outcomes from a system. This view opens the opportunity to ‘manage’ oneself, a
pre-requisite attempting to manage others.

Organizational Structure

The typically hierarchical arrangement of lines of authority, communications,

rights and duties of an organization. Organizational structure determines how the
roles, power and responsibilities are assigned, controlled, and coordinated, and how
information flows between the different levels of management.

A structure depends on the organization’s objectives and strategy. In a

centralized structure, the top layer of management has most of the decision making
power and has tight control over departments and division. In a decentralized

13
structure, the decisions making power is distributed and the departments and
division, at have different degrees of independence.

Features of the Line and Staff Organization Structure

There are a variety of organizational structures that companies use when

developing an operational model. One of the most common is the line and staff
organizational structure. This consists of a line, which is managers who make
business decisions for their respective departments, and a staff, whose members
perform tasks in support of the directives issued by the line. Though the duties of
these two components seem clear, there is often overlap in tasks that they perform.

The Line

The Line comprises professionals whose day-to-day tasks directly work

toward accomplishing the organization’s mission and goals. Alternative names for
the line are the business groups or, in the financial services industry, the front office.
These employees produce and sell the goods and services of the firm. For example,
the research and development team creates the product s, while the supply chain
manufactures them. The marketing department works to raise consumer awareness
of the products and services, while the sales group initiates costumer transactions
.The actions of the line generate the organization’s revenue. As a result, this group
makes the most decisions regarding the company’s operational policies and
procedures.

The Staff

The Staff is composed of every non-revenue generating department. Though

these groups do not directly contribute to the firm’s bottom line, their actions make
those of the line possible. The human resources department, for ensures that the
line is staffed with the top-tier talent, content in their jobs. Legal makes sure that the
actions of the line and its employees are within the scope of the la. Likewise, the
finance group secures capital resources for the organization while the accounting
department balances the books. Alternative names for the staff include the support
groups and, in the financial services industry, the back office.

The starting price that the proponents will offer to the target market is cheaper
than the other competitor because of the availability of the raw needed for the

42
Financial Aspect

43
Social or Economic desirability Aspect

Social desirability Feasibility

Entering in a business world, Barkadas’ Kitchen & Catering Services is not

organized only to gain profit. It must be equipped with socio – economic function in
business which seems to have given less consideration. And business should not
make its profit by producing goods or by rendering services that are detrimental to
the welfare of the society. The company should benefit directly or indirectly, the
government, the customer and the Philippine economy to be socio – economically
well and also provide better community development and standard of living.

Employee and Income

In terms of benefits to our employees, Barkadas’ Kitchen & Catering Services can
help them to improve their financial, social condition and most importantly their
personality development. By generating employment and income the project directly
benefits individual and families. Indirectly, the entire economy may be benefited.
More income in the hands of the people would mean greater demand or other goods;
this additional demand may in turn stimulate more production of other goods, thereby
generating further employment and income.

Tax Revenue

Barkadas’ Kitchen & Catering Services will help to promote sustainable economic
growth through the rationalization of the Philippine internal revenue tax system in
order to increase economic activity. The business should pay its taxes and duties to
the government as stipulated in the law by maintaining proper accounts and not
resorting to any dubious means of tax evasion. Aside from the taxes that our
company is required to pay, there are still other fees like registration, etc. The
revenue that could be generated in the form of taxes both by national and local
government can be used for the development of the country and as well as the
community. The business will also help in improving the level of the country’s dollar
reserves by promoting influx of tourists in the country.

44
Supply of commodities

The supply of the raw materials will be purchased locally. It doesn’t require
importation, so the price of raw materials will be lessening compared to imported
products.

Demand for local materials

All the raw materials needed in the restaurant could be purchased locally; thereby
saving the country’s much needed foreign exchange. It will also eliminate the
possibility of smuggling, thus, affecting an increase in the country’s international
reserve. Machinery is also fabricated within the country, which means minimal
importation of machines, parts, and equipment. Because the company’s product
would entail low cost, its price would also be lower as compared to existing local
competitors as well as imported ones.

Social responsibility and conditions

The new business shall be obliged to carry out its business assumption of social
responsibility by participating in civic actions and giving donations to the less
fortunate members of the society. Barkadas’ Kitchen & Catering Services will visit an
orphanage or any charitable institutions to organize an event like feeding program for
the children’s who’s in need. And as we enter in business, the company will assure
that there will be a right production process and proper waste disposal for clean and
safe environment.
