* The Third World and the Global South
* Global Stratification refers to the hierarchical
arrangement of individuals and group in societies around
the world.
* Cold War when western policymakers began taking about
the world as three distinct political and economics blocs.
(Tomlinson , 2003)
* First world Western capitalist countries. Define during
the cold war, the term first world referred to a country
that was aligned with United States and other western
nations in opposition to the former soviet union and its
allies.
* Second world the soviet union and its allies an was
constructed of the cold war and the term is still largely
used to describe former communist countries that are
between poverty and prosperity, many of which are now
capitalist states, such as Eastern Europe.
* Third world After the cold war ended, the category of
second world countries became null and void, but
somehow the terms , “Third World “ and “Third World”
stock around in the public consciousness. Third world
countries started as just a vague catchall term for non-
alliance countries. While the First World associated with
rich industrialized countries.
* Gross Domestic Product (GDP) –measure
the total output of country.
* Gross National Income (GNI) – measure GDP
per capita (World bank, n.d. )
* First World Countries
* United States
* Canada
* Western Europe
* And developed part of Asia are regarded to
Global North. 
* Global South
* Carribbean
* Latin America
* South America
* Africa
* This countries were used to be called the
third world during Cold war (Reuveny &
Thompson, 2007)
* Countries are South – 30 degrees north
latitude
