Formation of
Cyclones
The sun heats increase the rate of evaporation at water from the water
bodies such as seas and oceans .This also creates low-pressure area
over these water bodies. The water vapour rises up and reaches the
colder regions of atmosphere. On reaching colder regions, the vapour
releases heat and condenses to set up the surrounding air. The
surrounding air being warm , further rises up the atmosphere this
creates low-pressure area. This process is repeated several times
which pushes the air to move up higher and higher in the atmosphere.
However, due to the rotation of Earth, the air moves up in spiraling
pattern with low pressure area at its center. Thus, cyclone develops
where low-pressure area in the center is surrounded by high-speed
swirling winds accompanied by thunderstorms.

Formation of
Tornadoes
Tornadoes form when warm humid air
collides with cold , dry air. The denser cold
air is pushed over the warm air, usually
producing thunderstorms. The warm air
rises through the colder air, causing an
updraft. ... When it touches the ground, it
becomes a tornado.
