Types of Organizational Culture
• Communal Culture - goals are important, but at the same time how the goal has been achieved,
is also important
• Fragmented Culture – employees given full freedom to work the way they like and are given full
autonomy
• The Networked Culture - interaction within organization is a key factor, promotes sense of
sociability
• Mercenary Culture - organization are ruthless to get the results

Edgar Schein’s Model
• According to Edgar Schein, organizational culture model is directly influenced by direct mechanisms
like, Behavior, Opinions, Status and Appointments.
• Indirect mechanisms do not influence organizational culture but are determinative and include mission
and vision statement, formal guidelines, rituals etc.
Artefacts
• Warm artworks and comfortable furniture, encourage relaxation
• Traditional coffee sales method like customer name calling. It enables strong customer-employee interaction.
• Starbucks employee uniform
• Souvenirs of the company put on sale, in order to encourage customer loyalty and fondness.

Recommendations
Formalizing feedback mechanism:
 In order to analyse the performance of the employees and thereby
focussing on their weak areas and improving in holistic manner

Reward system for the employees :


 For exceptional performance either in terms of service or food delivery
segment.

 It would instil a feeling healthy competition between the employees and


would increase the overall productivity.
