Why Do We Need Rules?

Do you go to a football club?

If there were no
Do you go to an after-school club? rules, lots of
things would go
wrong.
Do you go to Rainbows, Brownies, Cub scouts or
Beaver scouts?

Do you have to follow any rules?

What would it be like if there

weren’t any rules when you go to those clubs?
We need rules to…

• keep us safe;
• keep us healthy;
• help us to be
ourselves;
• make sure we are all
listened to.
Who Will Make the Rules?
We all need to be part of making the rules so
that we all agree what they are and work together to
keep them.

Let’s start!
Our Rules
1. Don’t turn on your mic if the teacher doesn’t tell you to.

2. Follow the teacher’s instructions and listen to her.

3. Raise the virtual hand to participate.

4. Respect your turn.

5. Do not eat in class. But you can have a drink.

6. Ask for permission.

7. Respect your classmates. Do not disrespect them.

8. Do not turn off your camera for a long time.

Writing Our Class Rules
We will talk about our ideas and then make our own class rules.
Once we have our rules, we can promise to try and stick to them so that
our classroom is a safe, friendly and fun place to be.
