Artificial
Intelligence
(AI) Part I
A. What is Artificial
Intelligence?

In simple terms, artificial intelligence (AI) refers to

systems or machines that mimic human intelligence
to perform tasks and that have the ability to
iteratively improve on the information they collect.
B. What are the key
developments in AI?

Mass adoption of AI starts from 2018: AI adoption will rise in 2018 and beyond as
organizations start to see the clear benefits reaped by AI innovators like MFTBC. IDC predicts
that global AI earnings will pass $ 46 billion by 2020. In the Asia Pacific region, investment in
AI is predicted to grow to $ 6.9 billion by 2021, with a rapid expansion of 73% ( CAGR).
Pervasive Virtual Assistants: We will begin to see AI adoption on a
broad scale in the form of conversational AI chatbots in both consumer and
business settings. In fact, Gartner predicts that by 2020, more than 85% of
customer interactions with the business will be managed without human
interaction and AI will be the key technology implemented for customer
service
Democratize data and decision-making: In a world where there is more
data than ever, the ability to deliver meaningful business insights from data to
the maximum number of relevant employees has become critically important.
AI will be the key technology to make this happen by bringing together data
from employees, business applications and the world
Build Reliable Foundations for AI: Increasingly, there will be discussions at
government and industry levels to create formal rules and regulations for the
use of AI. We have seen these discussions with the emergence of e-commerce
and the advent of cloud technologies. It is critical to the transparency of public
and private conversations that they take place as they shape how AI can
benefit economies and societies in a fair, transparent and trustworthy way.
C. What is the future of AI?

According to a recent report by the International Data Corporation,

spending on artificial intelligence is going to double in the next 4 years.
Between 2020 and 2024, it is expected to go from 42.3 million euros to
93 million. Companies are looking to be more agile and innovative at a
totally unusual time in history. Among the main objectives: to provide a
better customer experience and help users to perform better in their
functions. In short, they want to make our lives a little easier with a more
personalized level of services. How will it affect our daily lives? These
are some examples proposed by Claudia Villalonga
