Modern Gymnastic
Gymnastics is a sport in which exercises
requiring strength, flexibility, balance, and
control are performed. All events are
governed by the "Federation Internationale
de Gymnastique" on a global scale (FIG).
Each country has a national governing
body (BIW) that is affiliated with FIG.
Artistic gymnastics includes the events that
most people associate with gymnastics as a
whole. Athletes in artistic gymnastics
perform feats of strength, agility, and grace
in events such as floor exercise, balance
beam, uneven bars, parallel bars, vault,
rings, and pommel horse.
In modern gymnastics competitions, there are six
men's events and four women's events scored.
