Main Units & Description
Name of the Unit Description
The SCU controls the fans and supports the external EC-bus including power to
Support Control Unit (SCU) the SAU.
Power Connection Unit (PCU) The PCU is a DC or AC interface for the RBS.
Power Connection Filter (PCF) The PCF connects -48 V DC power from the site batteries to the BFU.
The RU receives digital data and converts it to analog signals. It also receives
Radio Units (RU) radio signals and converts these to digital signals.
Power Distribution Unit (PDU) The PDU distributes fused -48 V DC power to the units in the RBS.
The SHU connects peripheral. Units such as PSUs, PDUs, DUs, and the SCU to
Support Hub Unit (SHU) the EC bus. The SHU is required if the RBS is equipped with PSUs.
The PSU converts incoming voltage to -48 V DC system voltage. The PSU is
Power Supply Unit (PSU) available for 120-250 V AC and +24 V DC, -48 V DC, -60 V DC.
The PFU is mandatory for an -48 V DC powered RBS or an AC fed RBS with
Power Filter Unit (PFU) external battery backup. One PFU can support up to six RUs.
Power Connection Filter (PCF) The PCF connects -48 V DC power from the site to the bus bar.
The BFU supervises, connects, and disconnects the battery backup. The BFU
Battery Fuse Unit (BFU) can be installed inside (internal) or outside the cabinet (external).
A space for optional equipment is provided that can be used for optional
transmission equipment. The space is 4 U high and 19 inches wide, and extends
250 mm behind and 50 mm in front of the 19–inch mounting rails. There are 40
Space for optional transmission mm spaces for cables at the front and the rear. 400 W is reserved in the power
equipment consumption budget and 240 W for heat dissipation.
